The two-hundredth anniversary of the Greek Revolution stands as a historic milestone of great significance. With the aim of serving and enhancing historical knowledge and memory, Parisian Publications inaugurates the publishing series "Philhellenic Library," which will extend over a considerable number of volumes and include valuable testimonies, memoirs, and biographies of renowned philhellenes, rare documents, as well as in-depth studies on their lives and actions.
The book "The Age of the Philhellenes" by Wilhelm Barth and Max Kerrich-Korn, the second volume of the "Philhellenic Library" series, seeks to fill an important bibliographic gap and contribute to the advancement of domestic philhellenic research. It is indeed a monumental work. The extensive information it includes on more than 800 philhellenes is invaluable, while the lives and actions of the people who fought for Greece's independence are illuminated within its pages. The book is complemented by an extensive introductory study by Kostas Papailiou, who is also the editor of the series.
