The Raspberry Pi HD camera connects to any Raspberry Pi or Compute Module, allowing you to create HD videos and still images. It uses Sony's IMX219PQ image sensor, which offers fast video capture and high sensitivity. The Raspberry Pi Camera Module provides reduced image corruption, such as fixed pattern noise and blur. It also features automatic control functions like exposure control, white balance, and brightness detection.

Connecting the Camera to the Pi:

A 15 cm ribbon cable connects directly to your camera's CSI port. Once connected, you can access the camera via the Multimedia Abstraction Layer (MMAL) or Video for Linux (V4L) APIs. Alternatively, there are libraries such as Picamera Python, and many others that you can find online.
