PLA Filament Orange 1.75 mm 500 g for 3D printers is manufactured in the Netherlands. The PLA filament is of high quality and ensures a consistent diameter, providing the best 3D printing experience. It is ideal for beginners in 3D printing, as it is easy to use and delivers impressive results.
The PLA filament is available in multiple colors and various types under the brand Real. PLA (polylactic acid) is one of the oldest and most commonly used materials in the 3D printing community, mainly due to its advantages as a versatile and environmentally friendly thermoplastic. It is organic and biodegradable, and can easily be blended with other components to affect its final properties, such as flexibility and metallic texture.
The colorless form of Real PLA has a translucent off-white color and a printing temperature between 195 - 205 degrees (depending on the characteristics of the hot end). Darker shades may require a few extra degrees due to the coloring process. The filament should extrude smoothly and have a slightly glossy appearance. PLA is denser and more durable than ABS, but it is more brittle and prone to cracking under high loads. It is also less resistant to external conditions (UV light and water) than other common thermoplastics.
PLA can print well on a non-heated surface using blue painter's tape or Kapton tape, as well as most 3D printing adhesive labels. For convenience, the use of sprays like 3DLAC on glass surfaces is recommended. A low surface temperature between 50 - 60 degrees reduces the chance of warping and makes it easier to remove the final print once the surface cools down.
