I don't have a cash register or a warehouse, but I record the items I use at work and also use it as a search tool to find exactly what I want on the internet. It reads barcodes horizontally and vertically, even through cellophane. There are, of course, some that you have to test from different distances to capture them. Its base is of very good quality and has a convenient spiral leg that you can bend as you please. The only real drawback, for which the scanner is not to blame, is that it is not wireless. However, the cable it comes with provides some freedom of movement.
