Cocoa is the dry and partially fermented seed of the cacao tree from which chocolate is made. The powder is produced by grinding the seeds of the cacao tree and removing the cocoa butter from the dark brown, bitter solid pieces.

The cocoa drink seems to be an infusion with beneficial effects on human health. A significant number of scientific studies show that cocoa contains high concentrations of flavonoids and procyanidins, compounds with antioxidant properties.
