Description

Description

The Squier Affinity Tele electric guitar is aimed at musicians and guitarists who are looking for an affordable yet quality guitar with a vintage look and sound. It is suitable for beginners and professional guitarists who play rock, blues, country, and similar music genres.

Pickup Configuration SS (2x single coils)

In the SS configuration, the first pickup is located at the guitar's neck position and the second pickup is located at the bridge position.

These two pickups produce a clean, crystalline sound and are extremely powerful across the entire frequency spectrum. This means that guitarists can play with a wide range of sounds, from the classic country sound to rock or blues.

Passive pickups

The pickups of the Squier are passive, and do not require external power to operate. Specifically, passive pickups work using magnetism, and produce a signal that is inversely proportional to the movement of the strings.

Neck construction from Maple wood

The Maple wood used in the neck is an important element for the guitar's acoustics, as it produces a bright and precise tone resulting from the wood's hardness.

Body construction from Poplar wood

The Poplar wood used in the guitar's body offers a balanced sound with an emphasis on the mid and low frequencies, performing well even in more intense playing.

Body Shape Telecaster

The Telecaster body shape is one of the most recognizable and timeless designs in the history of electric guitars. This shape offers some unique advantages to guitarists.

It provides comfort and ease, as its overall construction is quite lightweight. Its distinctive and classic style has influenced many guitarists and musicians around the world.

About the Squier by Fender

Fender is one of the oldest and most famous electric guitar manufacturing companies, founded in 1946 by Leo Fender in California, United States.

Today, it owns several well-known musical instrument subsidiaries such as Squier, Gretsch, Jackson, Charvel, and EVH.

For the 2021 model with string thru and vintage keys. Great value for money guitar. Excellent neck, fretboard, finish, and nice body, painting, finish in BTB. The pickups are fine for starters. The electronics are okay, no issues, volume, tone work well. What I didn't like are the keys. Unclear/indifferent, mediocre at best. I replaced them with fender locking, +100 in price that is. The nut is synthetic but of good quality above average. Bridge, etc., average quality but the adjustment screws work fine. The jack plugs in well so far. It's somewhat of a problem that it's not easy to fit, for example, fender materials on top because the dimensions are strange in everything, so it requires new drilling, adaptation, etc., without it being difficult for a good technician, of course. Maybe the CV series would be more cost-effective if there is no need for a change in something.

    After 3 months of use...

It definitely needs a setup. Some parts of it are completely low-quality. For example, the saddles, especially one of them, was worn out and I had to replace them. The tuners are not precise. When tuning, it's a bit uncomfortable. It holds the tuning, but it annoys me during use.

The Tone knob was making noise. I opened it up and saw that the wiring was ridiculous. By changing the wiring/switches, the sound improved significantly.

Now that I opened it up, I decided to also change the pickups and line the inside with copper to reduce electromagnetic radiation noise. Overall, the woods, etc. are okay. If I were to buy a guitar again, I would go straight for a Fender MIM. Keep in mind that there are no replacement parts for Squier. You can adapt whatever you find and as best as you can from Fender, but for example, a nut replacement from Fender doesn't fit.

The neck is slightly narrower. Overall, if someone buys it, it's okay but it definitely needs a setup as I mentioned.

5 stars because for this price, it's the best you can find. The pickups and the neck are flawless. I had some issues with the jack socket at times, something with the connection, but you never know exactly. It's worth it though, and I have used it many times as a backup and for live performances, and it was satisfactory!

The guitar for its money is the best thing out there!!! Excellent sound with very little noise in recording (with a noise reducer, you're good to go) the fretboard is very comfortable and its clean sound is almost crystalline!! Value for money, I recommend it, especially for someone who is moving away from the beginner stage and doesn't want to spend a lot of money!! And finally, it is made and crafted in Indonesia and not China ;) so....
