This volume inaugurates the collaboration between Athos Publications and Chief Warrant Officer Nikolaos A. Zournatzoglou, who notes in his preface: “The history of my entire effort, the fruit of which is this book, is as follows: I met the blessed Elder Paisios in 1988. In the years that followed, listening to pilgrims and Athonite fathers recount various personal experiences about the God-bearing Elder, I felt the need to gather these testimonies. With warm-heartedness, I began the collection, which was laborious because it required a lot of time and frequent travels to the places of residence of the people who offered to share their testimonies. Very soon, at the very beginning of my research, I realized the spiritual treasure hidden in the testimonies of the pilgrims. For in every testimony, one finds answers to various concerns, while at the same time they prepare, strengthen, and encourage us for the upcoming events, which the Elder repeatedly emphasized we would experience.”
