The minimum word limit of the C1 certification level is part of the official curriculum of the Russian state examination system. The manual contains about 11,000 lexical units, necessary and sufficient for successful participation in communicative situations, in which there are requirements concerning the third level of certification of Russian as a foreign language. This specific manual is addressed to foreign students learning the Russian language both in Russia and abroad, to teachers teaching Russian as a foreign language, to authors of manuals and learning methods, tests and practice materials on the language.
