This volume aims to make an initial use of the material created in the context of the 7th wave of the World Value Survey (WVS-7), which was also conducted in Greece. The Greek sample comprised 1,200 individuals, distributed throughout the territory, who answered a total of 307 questions. This created a rich database, useful and suitable for numerous analyses.
In the 14 texts of the volume, the 26 authors, drawing from the data of the WVS-7 study, examine, each from their own perspective, issues concerning Greek society, such as: the paradox of democracy, the variability of values, emerging moral ambiguity, the dimension of national pride, the issue of secularization in our context, otherness in relation to stereotypes, attitudes towards incoming immigration, the influence of key socialization agents on value formation, the generational dimension of values, the measurement of political trust, the relationship between emigration and socio-economic crisis, the formative influence of emotions on political culture, the impact of values on political culture through discursive frameworks, as well as the effect of citizens' emancipatory values on elites and governments.
