With great satisfaction, the Macedonian Studies Company publishes this edition, made possible through our ongoing collaboration with the Bulgarian State Archives.

For the first time in history, classified documents from Bulgaria and partly from Yugoslavia are published, which validly weigh in on the long-standing dispute between the two neighboring countries over Macedonia, involving vital national interests and non-negotiable sovereign rights of Greece.

In this instance, for example, the characteristic statement of the then President of Bulgaria, Todor Zhivkov, to the Yugoslav ambassador in 1970 is revealed: "You will never obtain Pirin Macedonia, just as you will never obtain Aegean Macedonia"!
