The board game Tinners' Trail by Alley Cat Games is an economic strategy game set in 19th-century Cornwall, during the peak of the tin and copper mining industry. Players represent mining companies, buying plots of land at auction and prospecting for ore while managing their workers and money.
After building a mine, they extract the ore, with costs increasing as the mine gets deeper. They can place ports, railway stations and drainage adits to reduce mining costs. They then sell the ore, choosing when prices are high, and invest their profits in industries outside Cornwall to score victory points.
