Orientation

This concerns the direction that the seat is facing. It can be either forward or backward. Additionally, some seats have the ability to rotate and have both directions.

Forward

The forward-facing seat is usually recommended for children over 2 years old or even earlier depending on the weight of the baby. 2. Forward-facing seats may be booster seats or may not have a belt as the car's belt is used.

Rear

The baby's first car seat should be strictly rear-facing. 2. Until the age of 2 or until the child exceeds the maximum weight allowed for the seat, the baby should face backwards, as the seat serves the correct posture that protects and supports the head, neck, and spine in the event of a collision.

Description

The Stages is a seat that can be used in three different stages of a child's development. It is suitable for children from 0-25kg.

First Stage (0-18kg)

The first stage is for use from approximately 0-18 kg, where the seat is installed rear-facing in the car. When the seat is installed rear-facing, it has an additional blue safety feature that helps with the more correct, stable, and secure installation of the seat in the car. In this stage, it has a reclining position.

Second Stage (9-15kg)

In the second phase, the seat converts to a 9-15 kg category seat and is secured forward-facing with the car's three-point seatbelt. The headrest is adjusted to the correct height so that the child seat belts come to the right position and hold the child ideally.

It has three reclining positions so that the little passenger can sleep comfortably, and it is also equipped with a ventilation system on the sides of the seat to prevent the baby's body from developing high temperatures on long journeys.

Third Stage (15-25kg)

In the third stage, the Stages seat converts into a seat for the 15-25 kg category. At this phase, the seat no longer uses the child seat's harnesses and both the child and the seat are secured with the car's three-point seatbelt.

One of the advantages of the Stages is that to convert it to the 15-25 kg category, there is no need to remove the harnesses from the seat; instead, they can be placed in the special storage compartments provided by the seat.

The reason I am writing a review is to possibly save some people the trouble. We ordered the car seat, everything seemed fine, it looked comfortable, high-quality, BUT it wouldn't lock the Isofix in the car no matter what. Hyundai Getz from 2008. And it wasn't us who tested it, but the employee who told us that they have installed countless car seats. The company claims they are compatible, so we don't know what the problem is, probably some manufacturing incompatibility of millimeters that creates the issue. We tried three different bases and none of them worked. Maybe it's a problem with my car or this specific batch of Getz, and someone else might not have an issue, I'm just writing this to have it recorded as an experience. We didn't have any issues with other brands, so we got a different one.

Very easy installation with isofix.
The child has been comfortable and sleeping well since day one.
Once you learn it, you can easily buckle it.
If there is something we would like but it doesn't have, it would be the 90° rotation.
We have been using it since the baby's second month and we are almost outgrowing it. Of course, it is installed rear-facing and it will probably stay that way for a while, as the child still fits comfortably in length.

Initially, I was inclined to buy a seat over 500 euros from a Norwegian company that has the best reviews from ADAC. However, since the money is excessive for a Greek buyer, I searched extensively to find the next best solution. Additionally, the car seat I have (from a stroller trilogy) did not suit my child at all, he was constantly crying and rarely slept in the car. So, let's start with some assumptions before I describe the car seat. 1. If you choose a car seat for 9-36 kilograms, it will only face forward, which is dangerous (up to 18 kilograms, the child should face rearward). Therefore, this category is excluded. So, "necessarily," you go for the categories that start from "0" kilograms, which is convenient because you can change the car seat more quickly. 2. Some car seats are for up to 12 years old, which your child will definitely not be that big when using a car seat. Most likely, they will be small, so they will be properly secured with the seat belts (not to mention that in some places, 13-year-olds drive cars!). 3. ADAC is good, but it also considers other factors in its reviews, so it is good to consult it, but not to exclude a car seat just because ADAC has not tested it. If your car seat has the European standard R129 I-SIZE, then I consider you covered!

Positives about the car seat: It is very well made, it can face forward or rearward depending on the child's weight, it is very easy to install since it is isofix (fits perfectly in an Opel Corsa and leaves space for the front seat - not for a tall person, but the passenger has enough space). Negatives: The 5-point harness is a bit difficult to put on when placing the child in the seat. Also, because, as mentioned above, the seat is tall and takes up a lot of space vertically, when you try to put or remove the child from the seat, you need to be careful not to hit them, as there is limited space.

I highly recommend it!
