Description

If your diet causes you confusion and stress, and if guilt prevents you from enjoying food, Psychogastronomy will teach you how to eat properly and make cooking a beloved therapeutic habit!

By following this practical guide, you will leave behind the file of failed diets and approach nutrition in a different way: it is time to build a conscious and quality relationship with the process of preparing and consuming food, a relationship that will be based on self-acceptance, liberation from perfectionism and feelings of inadequacy, while helping you improve your quality of life.

Welcome to an exciting journey of self-awareness, liberation, and health! With practical tips and creative cooking recipes that transform food into an act of nourishment and enjoyment.

PSYCHO-GASTRONOMY: BASIC PRINCIPLES and BENEFITS

  • Physical and mental health: our food choices and the way we eat are determined by our true needs, while we develop a more peaceful and enjoyable relationship with food.
  • Connection with our food: we do not eat mechanically and engage with it (both in preparation and consumption) consciously and creatively.
  • Self-confidence: we trust ourselves and our functions.
  • Connection with our environment: we perceive and appreciate the value of food, while understanding how it connects us socially.
  • Connection with our life: mindfulness, reading the body’s "signals," enjoyment, and creativity are values and skills we can apply to other areas of our lives beyond nutrition.

By learning to nourish ourselves with more focus, enjoyment, and wisdom, we learn to live better! A useful tool for everyone, as well as for nutrition and mental health professionals.

Because the flood of information can easily make us feel anxious, confused, and disappointed, we need to protect our natural curiosity and not be discouraged. Psycho-gastronomy, as a concept, proposes a new relationship with food. It is not about searching for rare products, learning unknown words, nor about devaluing simple, pure foods and preparation methods. We do not need pretense, affectation, or unattainable goals that make us feel bad about ourselves. Wouldn't it be wonderful if our diet could "lift us up" rather than "bring us down"?

Excellent book about our relationship with food, it greatly improved my relationship with food in a healthier and more detached way, while still maintaining the silhouette I desire. After so many restrictive diets I have done, I feel like I was helped to find the golden mean. In addition, there are very interesting information about how our body and brain work in relation to the enjoyment of food.
