Magnat Alpha RS12 Active Subwoofer 12" 120W RMS Mocha The Magnat Alpha RS 12 features a high-power 300 mm (12-inch) woofer with deep reflex performance equipped with two Airflex ports. The built-in Class D amplifier delivers 120 watts of continuous power, while the maximum power is 240 watts. The technology integrated into the RS12 allows it to reproduce frequencies down to 20 Hz. The amplifier's electronics allow for volume, frequency, and phase crossover adjustments, thus enabling optimal adaptation to the room's acoustics. The solid MDF enclosure is optionally available in a black finish or mocha finish. The RS12 is 360 mm wide and 465 mm high. The standard fabric grille can be easily removed to reveal the impressive bass frame. The active subwoofer Magnat Alpha RS12 is an ideal addition to any home theater or hi-fi system.     I bought it to replace a 20-year-old Yamaha. My first impressions after 10 days of use are excellent. I have it in a 25sqm room, I did the initial setup with Denon's Audyssey and then made some manual fine-tuning. The bass is deep, especially in movies, without being muddy, it fills the whole room and it's exactly what you want to hear. I don't know if it goes down to 20Hz as it claims, nor did I measure it of course, since we're talking about frequencies that the human ear can hardly detect and are felt more as vibration than as sound. For my taste, it's top.
    I got it in mocha color which has nothing to do with the one in the photo, it's a much darker brown without the pronounced grain as shown. The color is brown/wenge, much better than the photos and it easily matches the space.
