What do users say? AI-generated summary

Opinions are mixed, but several people say it effectively removes some types of paint, sometimes very quickly, and appreciate that it doesn’t contain dichloromethane. It has been used on railings and wood, and in some cases made it easier to remove old paint or multiple layers.

Two hands of chalk paint color peeled off immediately. In this particular case, it didn't take much solvent. Be careful (besides wearing a mask, even those for the coronavirus, and gloves) before using it, it requires a good shake. Otherwise, pieces of the solvent will come out.

In another case, where there were two hands in wood, 50-year-old oil paint, apart from the heat gun that warmed them and they came off with a scraper, in areas with cables where the heat gun cannot be used because the cables will melt, the solvent managed to reduce the strength of the oil paint and come off more easily with the well-sharpened scraper.

I used plenty - plenty of it to remove 20-year-old nail polish.
The result? Nothing. It didn't do anything at all. Unfortunately,
another failed purchase through the Internet.

The only one among the modern products that doesn’t contain dichloromethane, which I tried and works. It dissolved alkyd paint on railings in 2 minutes. It works faster at high temperatures.

It works quite well, but it needs a good sanding on wood, otherwise it will damage the new varnish/paint that will be applied. I don't know what would happen if I left it for many days after application.

It definitely needs a mask or better use it in an open space. I made the mistake of using it inside a room and even though the windows were open, it bothered me a lot.

Excessively thick and sticky, too much smell, not satisfactory stripping.

I tried to remove wood varnish, it was very troublesome. In the end, I removed it with the sander.

Description & Specifications

Mercola Strip & Clean paint and varnish remover strips old paint and varnish from wood, metal, walls, ceilings and cement. Its thick gel formula does not run, making it suitable for vertical and horizontal surfaces without affecting the original surface. It is suitable for most varnishes and paints, including polyurethane and solvent-based varnishes and lacquers, plastic and acrylic paints, and oil-based paints. It contains no dichloromethane and complies with Regulation 276/2010/EU.

Apply with a brush and remove the stripped material with a putty knife, scraper or stiff brush. Leave it to work for 15–25 minutes without allowing it to dry; polyurethane varnishes require approximately 45 minutes. If any residue remains, a second coat can be applied. Then rinse the surface with water and allow it to dry thoroughly before applying new paint or varnish. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use at an application temperature of 10–35 °C. Coverage is 2–3 m²/L. No dilution is required.
