Photovoltaic sensors of the Gxx series are general-purpose switches used in machine and equipment systems for non-contact motion detection. They operate on the photoelectric principle, where the sensor contains a transmitter of photo signals and a receiver of the returned signal.

There are three types of sensors: diffuse sensors, retro-reflective sensors, and transmitter-receiver sensors. These types of sensors differ in how the signal is returned and allow for the adjustment of the activation distance. Development is based on PNP and NPN transition. They have small dimensions and feature a metal cylindrical housing that is shock-resistant and a plastic cover that is resistant to oils and water.
