As I have suffered from cold sores for many years, lysine is the best thing, especially with the sword oil that I apply on the sore. I have tried Zovirax, alcohol, adhesive patches, lemon, and sword oil. Until I discovered lysine, I used to apply lemon several times a day, resulting in drying it out in 2-3 days without it having a chance to swell, so the scab would come off later and wouldn't bother me. Then I discovered sword oil, which is the BEST thing I decided to put on my lips; it is truly a remedy. The cold sore never swells and recedes very quickly. When I feel that my skin starts to sting, I take 2 lysine tablets together and another 1 during the day, and on the second day the same. If needed on the third day, I might take 1. The cold sore never appears! By the way, the ointment had the exact opposite effect on the cold sore from what I was looking for; it made it much worse and very quickly.

While in the summer I always used to have one herpes outbreak after another, this year with these heatwaves and the related psychological pressure, I haven't had any since I tried this product. It seems to have an excellent result in prevention (I take one pill a day, like vitamins in winter).

Reading the comments, one would think that it works miracles.. What I can confidently say now after using one package is that instead of the herpes taking 12-15 days to fully heal, it only takes 2 days. However, what is very important is that it dries it out in a day and a half and you don't suffer as much during the duration of the herpes cycle. However, it will still go through its cycle, so don't think that by taking one capsule you are completely relieved.. that's it.

The solution for cold sores. In the past, I might have had a herpes outbreak every month. After systematic intake of lysine, however, 1) fewer outbreaks and 2) I manage to prevent many of them from occurring!
For prevention: 500 mg every day
At the beginning of an outbreak: 3000 mg every day for as long as needed (usually 10 days)
Generally, I don't go anywhere without it. I have a bottle at home, at work, and with me on every trip.
I'm not sure, but I think during the periods when I take it, I sleep better.

I bought this specific dietary supplement because I read that it helps with cold sores. Indeed, I think it helped heal faster. I will try to confirm it by using it again when I get another cold sore on my lip.
