Next, the most important morphological and in some cases functional differences are provided in the various species of these animals. More details are dedicated to mammals and pigs, and fewer to horses, while birds are examined in a separate chapter. Special emphasis is given to the digestive and reproductive systems, in combination with the endocrine glands, as well as the early stages of embryonic life.
Anatomical terms used in the text are in agreement with those taught at the Department of Veterinary Medicine of A.U.Th., so that future agronomists can "speak the same language" as veterinarians when jointly addressing animal production issues.
