9 years in my possession, I grilled countless sandwiches. But only sandwiches. I never grilled anything different. Now, in its 9th year, it started to release smoke, so it's time for a replacement. The main disadvantage is the cable, which no matter how I placed it, it would always touch the plates, resulting in it being partially eaten and covered with insulating tapes almost throughout its length. We had it permanently on the counter, so there was no issue with storage and cable management.
Another disadvantage is the absence of an On/off button. It is not convenient to constantly plug and unplug it, especially since it has a permanent position on the kitchen counter.

Disappointing build quality compared to the previous model I had and wanted to replace. Unfortunately, you pay for the brand name while the plastic quality is cheap (they don't fit properly, giving the feeling that they will break with a little more force). The plates and electrical part seem fine, but given the cheap construction of the chassis, they don't inspire durability. It would have been worth spending the same amount on spare parts to repair the old one.

The plates got damaged very quickly while being used very carefully. Once we cooked burgers and couldn't clean the device. The spare parts are very expensive, and storing the device is difficult. Unfortunately, it's not worth its money.

I do not recommend it.......It has an issue with the plates, it is difficult to clean. I have replaced it once and now it struggles over time, as it does not heat up when turned on and the safety feature keeps tripping.

Unacceptable toaster. Do not buy it.
The plates get destroyed very quickly and cost almost as much as the toaster itself. Especially if they are washed in the dishwasher, they don't last even two years.
Also, if you cook something other than toast, it is not easy to clean.

While cooking various foods (chicken, vegetables, fish), they stick a lot to the plates and do not clean easily. The worst part is that they drip liquids from the cooking inside (in the area of the resistors), they do not clean, no matter how much you think you cleaned them when they are upright they continue to drip (from where?) and it smells like burnt or fishy for a long time after cooking... Now I have to toast even a sandwich on the balcony so that the house doesn't smell. In the end, I bought another simple toaster for toast.

For Philips, I did not expect the resistors to need replacement so quickly. I changed them because the service told me not to waste the toaster since it is considered good. As for cleaning the plates, it is very difficult and the coating is not as non-stick as they say. It toasts relatively quickly, although I have not tried to toast anything else. And my thermostat is not as high quality. It just looks bad when you knowingly pay a high price for a toaster with a name like Philips and it does not meet the quality and durability you expect. The choice is yours... but I don't think I will choose Philips again when I need a toaster, I was not satisfied.

Two months after purchasing it, the plates peeled off a lot even though we took great care in cleaning it. We threw it away! The truth is that I have bought Philips and it turned out to be of poor quality. Stay away!

In our 5 years, we have replaced 4 sandwich makers, because after a year the resistors break and it doesn't heat up. Every time we go through the same hassle, going to the service center and after 15 days they give us the same faulty model. The dealership as well as the service center always tell us the same story, that they can't replace it with another model, etc.
Don't buy it, it's like throwing your money in the trash.
Shame on such a reputable company for releasing these products!!!

Cheap construction, especially the thermostat button.
After 2 years, some resistance gave up, so new ones were bought, NOT genuine but identical ones for 8€ each. (Installation was done by myself, of course).
Unacceptable plates, but maybe we are also to blame since we didn't always wipe them after use.
In the end, other NOT genuine ones will be purchased (30€ set) because Philips prices them at 25€ each!

1.5 months after purchasing it, the plates started peeling off and the coating remained on the toast. I always washed the plates in the dishwasher, as allowed by the instructions. When I took it to the service in Nea Erythraia, they tried to prove to me in every way that I scratched it with something hard and that's why the coating came off, so the warranty doesn't cover me. I sent an email and photos to the dealership, they said they would respond but it's been 15 days and nothing. The cost of the plates is 43 euros. The cost of the toaster is 67 euros.
I bought a KENWOOD and they won't see me again at PHILIPS, not even painted.
Choose another toaster.

It is good for toast, not for barbecue.
Very difficult to clean, even with a dishwasher.
And I do not recommend washing it in the dishwasher as the non-stick coating worsened.

After one year of operation, the toaster proves to be of excellent quality. You adjust the time to have your toast ready because it toasts quickly on high power. Ideal for grilling meats as well. It can be stored vertically, which is particularly convenient.

Well, in general, it's a good toaster BUT:
After 4 years of almost daily use, the resistors broke, resulting in a decrease in overall performance.
I went to the Phillips dealership and they told me they don't have spare parts!! 3rd party resistors cost 8 euros each, which means 16 euros. If you decide to replace the plates, which after 4 years are not in the best condition, it's another 25 euros times 2. Total 8+8+25+25=66 euros.
The price of a new one is around 70 euros.

The plates have been smelling for a while now. I have cooked on them over 10 times and the plates still smell. They must have something wrong. The service of Philips in Chania said it is normal. 10 times and it still hasn't stopped smelling; not satisfied at all with the product.
