The Makita DTM50ZX1 oscillating multi-tool runs on an 18 V battery and can cut, sand and scrape, as well as remove mortar, silicone and filler when fitted with the appropriate accessories. The oscillation speed is electronically adjustable from 6,000 to 20,000 oscillations per minute, while soft start and constant speed control support precise operation.

Accessories can be fitted in 12 positions at 30° intervals across a range of 0°–360°. The integrated LED illuminates the work area, while the anti-restart function prevents automatic restart. The tool is sold without a battery or charger.
