Prince of Persia: Rival Swords for PSP follows the Prince on his journey to Babylon, where the release of the Sands of Time threatens his kingdom and gives rise to the Dark Prince. The action combines combat, acrobatics, and puzzles, while players control two characters with different fighting styles, weapons, and abilities.
The combat system allows for different approaches, such as attacks with the Daggertail and surprise kills. In the levels, the Prince fights on rooftops and streets and makes his way through underground passages, while chariot races add new routes. The game also features a multiplayer mode with timed races, in which players activate traps and obstacles to slow down their opponents.
