In 2023, American android developers evaluated the pixel 6 after two years of its presence as possibly the best value for money choice for an android smartphone. They found the android experience excellent, the cameras exceptional, the 5G extremely fast, and the Google Assistant superior in smart functions compared to iPhone's Siri. As an owner of the pixel 6, I can tell you that it is indeed an exceptional phone, very fast with a clean android experience, and stands out in terms of design.

Cameras: During the day, it takes exceptional photos, and in certain conditions, even better than the iPhone 14 Pro that I compared it to. Astrophotography: Many phones will give you nice night shots with stars, but nothing compares to taking them with a Pixel! That's when you understand what Google's software can do. It takes around 2 to 3 minutes, but the result is far superior to all flagship phones from other companies.

Video: Very powerful, with amazing stabilization! Even the selfie video, although it's only 1080p 30fps, is quite stable with vibrant colors. It doesn't connect to 5G, but I knew that and changed the setting to LTE. I connect to 4G networks and everything works fine! I have no issues with calls; they are crystal clear (with Cosmote). It connects normally to all my wireless devices, such as speakers and headphones, etc. The device doesn't heat up even with prolonged use.

The fingerprint sensor didn't always work at first, but now it works better. Moreover, it gives you the option to use different fingerprints to unlock. At the price of 410 euros that I bought it for, it not only has no rival, but it also makes 1000 euro phones seem overpriced.

The Pixel 6 is not to blame if Google has blocked some of its functions in countries where it is not officially available. At least for now... If you like the Pixel 6, go for it, guys!

I was between 3-4 stars. The reason I was disappointed with the device I got is because I considered it an upgrade from my previous pixel. Let me clarify that for someone coming from an older phone, they will see a big difference. So they will definitely be satisfied. However, for someone coming from the previous pixel, they may not be.

Furthermore, someone else who left a review also mentioned it: coming from the Pixel 2 XL, they didn't see the expected difference.

And I'll explain further:
Bigger battery, but it comes at the cost of weight. The phone is quite heavy.
Camera bump: without a suitable case, it's dangerous.
Signal: many times it feels like the quality is worse (not interruptions, but when, for example, you're watching web TV like Netflix and the movie buffers while playing, so the quality is worse: I would compare it to that).
Volte: I don't know if it's a provider issue. If it is, then okay, there's nothing you can do. If not, it's a shame that I have to root or try alternatives for a service. It's not a phone from 2015.
Camera: I compared it side by side with the 2 XL and the colors on the 2 XL are much better. The quality may be better, but as a user, I was much more satisfied with the 2 XL. I don't know if I got a defective one, but okay, the phone didn't run perfectly.
Flash is average.
Fingerprint sensor: that's its worst point. I knew it when I bought it, but I thought I shouldn't spend more money on the 7. If I had, maybe I would still have a Pixel as I sold it after 1.5 months. Who does that? Someone who changes phones like shirts (I don't have that financial ability, but even if I did, I wouldn't do it), or someone who is truly disappointed. I'm not advertising and I don't know what other possible issues it has, but go for the 7.

Also, I compared the 6 with the 6a in terms of the camera: the 6a doesn't have a camera like the previous Pixels (as they said on the internet), but it had the mediocre camera you would find on a lower budget Xiaomi, etc. So even there, check it out first.

To summarize: for me, even though the 6 is beautiful, it's not worth it. It has many issues and no matter what anyone says, I'm here to say that it's not like that. The real upgrade might be the 7. The 2 XL is much nicer and comparable, but now with 4GB RAM, it can't keep up easily.

Coming from the quite old Huawei P10, I can say that I was quite satisfied. The photos are excellent, especially after the blurriness of the previous device, I feel like I'm using a professional camera. The only problem I find is with capturing green, which comes out somewhat dull in the photos. I have no problem with the internet (Vodafone) or with calls. The speaker is loud and the music sounds crystal clear. I won't mention the various functions or features of the phone, as I am completely unfamiliar with them and have deactivated them all to minimize battery consumption. The battery lasts for 2 days with the usage I have (I don't play games).

However, what really disappointed me in this phone, to the point where I miss my old P10, is its brightness. In the P10, the brightness was always set at 20-30% indoors and 50% outdoors. The Pixel has no brightness at all. Sometimes I get the impression that it was created exclusively for indoor use. During the day with mild sunlight and maximum brightness, you can't see anything!

Furthermore, forget about the fingerprint sensor, it works when it feels like it, usually it doesn't.

I have had the phone for a few months now:

* It doesn't have a bunch of junk apps that you can't uninstall, clean Android operating system with all the benefits that come with it.

* Amazing camera, I'm not the type to use filters (although it has them) on everything I take, but the quality is exceptional for photos or videos. Very happy with it and with what the Pixel is advertised for as a mobile phone.

* Good battery, I use it heavily and charge it once every 2-3 days.

* Google Assistant is very nice, not extremely advanced, but for the basics (call so-and-so, find me this, take a selfie, etc.) it is really useful.

* Very good screen.

* It doesn't freeze.

negatives

* The fingerprint for unlocking works only 40% of the time. I knew this before I got the phone, so I'm okay with it, but it happens to me too. Literally, you put your finger and it doesn't unlock, you have to do it again and again until you have to enter the passcode. And it's not a hardware issue, because other apps (banking, signal, for identification) that I have and unlock with fingerprint open on the first try, it's purely a software issue and it still hasn't been fixed.

* It has a weird issue with wifi certificates. I have tried to connect it to my work wifi, which has specific certificates, and I couldn't do it. For "regular" wifi, there is no issue.

* It requires a fast charger, which (when I bought it) costs around 25-30 euros and it's an additional cost since the phone doesn't include a charger in its packaging. A classic 15w charger simply won't charge it even when it's closed.

Overall, I recommend it, but, as I said, the fingerprint unlock being so random is very annoying.

I had and still have the Samsung S20 FE. I found a very good price on the Pixel and bought it.

At first glance, it seems like a very mediocre device, I would characterize it as quite cheap, although sturdy, as it fell on a wooden floor and didn't even leave a mark. The front and back feel like plastic, with no glass-like sensation. It also slips very easily like soap. When you touch the screen, it makes a tapping sound as if there is a gap underneath, like it's made of plastic and not laminated like regular iPads. It's simply due to the design and because it opens from the front, similar to iPhones (which also make the same sound), compared to Samsung devices, so it's just a feeling and not a construction flaw.

The screen is decent, the camera is quite good, but it lacks a bit in video quality as it produces a lot of noise in low light conditions. The ultrawide is non-existent and unfortunately, it's worse compared to the telephoto lens of the S20. These are the negatives so far. The screen is quite bright, nothing special, but readable under sunlight.

Rocket-fast, the fastest I've experienced along with Xiaomi and ZTE flagship devices. Those might perform better, but I haven't noticed any delays, everything runs smoothly and it has very smooth motion everywhere, which I didn't see with Samsung. The call quality and signal are excellent for me, although these issues may have been fixed, so I understand that early adopters might have faced problems. I should mention that sometimes the touch response of the screen is not reliable, and I've seen this mentioned on websites and by acquaintances. This is very disappointing and a shame.

The camera is amazing, night shots are excellent, almost as good as Chinese devices that excel in this area. The lack of ultrawide and telephoto, which I mentioned before, is disappointing, and the selfie camera is also underwhelming. It falls behind compared to iPhones and Samsung devices. The fingerprint sensor seems to have been improved, but it's still not as fast as I would like, although it's quite accurate. It would be more convenient if it was placed a bit lower on the screen and it doesn't work with the screen off. I don't know what else to mention. Some people might find the button layout strange, with the power button on top and the volume buttons below, but I got used to it in 3 days and I get confused when I hold another phone. Overall, I'm very satisfied, although I miss some features from the S20 like the telephoto lens, and I'm considering getting the Pixel 6 Pro or 7 Pro later, which also has an excellent wide lens.

pixel 6. It would get 4 stars due to some known bugs that it had with android 12, but at such a price (€550) there are no complaints.
So, comparing it to older pixel devices, I have to say that I didn't feel that wow factor when I started using it. I don't know why, I just mention it.
Other than that, it feels like being at home. The familiar pixel stock android interface with some differences.
Display:
Amazing color accuracy in natural mode, but the default adaptive mode is also very beautiful without deviating too much.
Satisfactory resolution and the 90hz is just right (I don't want anything else).
HDR works fine on YouTube & Netflix, although the brightness is not as strong in automatic mode when playing HDR content. There, you just go manually.
Anyway, personally, I am 99% satisfied with the automatic brightness.
Sound:
The familiar top and bottom speakers with adaptive mode (this works well).
It's nothing special in terms of volume, but the quality is good.
The microphone(s) work well. The other person can hear you and there is a setting in the camera that isolates the sound when shooting selfie videos or videos from the back camera, reducing noise.
Performance:
Here, Google has done a good job in terms of performance, smart features, and price.
To explain, it's not raw power, but you can play any game you want at 90hz (if supported) and overall, it's quite fast without lag. I just emphasize that it won't achieve numbers like SDgen1, etc. It is similar to the SD888, but where it excels is in the functions that require machine learning (such as on-device translation) and the camera functions where it truly shines.
So, for the pixel user, it's great considering that Google left Qualcomm to have more control over the software/hardware integration. For example, in terms of speed, it may be comparable to the Snapdragon 865, while surpassing the competition in GPU and even in some tasks. This, combined with the upcoming updates, is what makes it stand out and I believe it played a role in determining the price.
(compare, for example, pixel 5 with midrange SD778 at €720 vs pixel 6 Tensor at €1,630) So, we do our job and have the smartest phone on the market with a little power for future updates that require AI, ML, etc.
Cameras:
I don't need to write anything. We all know what Google camera is. I'll just say that the new sensor is amazing.
Also, the new chip allows HDR net algorithm in videos. So, even where it lacked a bit (video), it has improved a lot.
I just wish the super res zoom was better considering the new sensor! (come on Google, we want x2 zoom like the iPhone 14).
Software:
The familiar pixel experience at its best with Android 13. (Android 12 was terrible. I want to forget about it)
The updates are on par with various 2-year-old updates for security. This is good, maybe for resale (you're selling a phone that has some life ahead of it and will be secure).
Of course, for those who don't know about pixels, it's pure Android with features like simplicity and automatic operation. It has its good points (it's very clean and simple without overwhelming extras), while the negative is that it looks somewhat poor compared to richer UIs like Samsung's, etc. However, if you want simplicity and functionality, along with immediate updates and, of course, upgrades on day one. You are for Pixel.
Battery:
Here it's okay compared to my 4a, it easily lasts the day. Of course, I charge it every night with adaptive charging (extends battery life). But I think it could have been better.
I see some system apps consuming more battery than they should, like data and screen on standby.
I hope they continue to improve through updates.
Also, the charging is slow!
With an 18W charger, it takes over an hour and a half to go from 50% to 100%.
The issue is that even if you buy the 30W charger, it will charge at around 23 watts :(
Design:
Very beautiful, although in my opinion, there should either be a Mini version or it should be slightly smaller, like 6.1 inches, which would be ideal (that's the size of the 6a and all iPhones).
The materials are premium, and the colors are vibrant.
I hope they continue in this pattern of quality and price. :) 5 stars for the first attempt of the Tensor Chip by Google. :) Bravo Google!

If this mobile was intended for the Greek market, at this price, it would have no competition at all... Subtract one star because I had to bring it from abroad, specifically, 7 months ago, and because Greek telecommunications companies don't love it very much... I should emphasize that this is my first flagship Android experience since I had iPhones and mid-range phones in the range of 200-300 euros for many years. With this particular mobile, I was shocked from the first unboxing. The build quality is amazing. Its speaker is very good. The screen is nice, but it could have been a little brighter, I think 500 nits is not enough in 2022, especially in the Greek summer, although so far I haven't had visibility issues when I drag the bar to the maximum. The battery is very good, lasting 1 day with heavy usage and 1.5 days with normal usage, and instead of getting worse every month, it improves... I didn't have any bugs, I don't know what to say... Maybe if I came from a recent 1000 euro phone, I would notice something, but this phone is flawless... The fingerprint with the dome glass screen protector works fine (although when I first got it, it was noticeably worse than it is now), but it is definitely slower than the poco f1 I had before and the iPhone 7 I had before the poco. I won't say anything about the camera, there's no need, I wish I could upload videos here, but the low light shots tell the whole story. The phone has the best camera on the market if you know how to handle it, and that was the reason for my purchase.

I will start with the "elephant in the room": Bugs.
I have read quite a few complaints, but I consider myself "lucky".
Except for the first boot where I didn't do any software updates and had signal disconnection issues, it was fixed with the next update (referring to the November 2021 update, and so far it has reached the February 2022 update).
Since then: no signal disconnections or wifi issues, no dropped calls.
Fingerprint: not very fast, but accurate.

Calls: they are crystal clear and quite (or very) loud.
I would like the call to be heard from both speakers in speakerphone mode, but only the bottom speaker produces sound.
In terms of call sound quality and volume, the Pixel 6 is top-notch, along with the OnePlus 8 Pro and Oppo Find X3 Neo (yes, this brand exists and has left me with very good impressions).

Display: having gotten used to 120Hz on other devices, the difference at 90Hz is noticeable for me, but it remains smooth without any "stuttering" in scrolling, etc.
Very good brightness in sunlight, no reading issues.
The auto brightness works very well (although there were complaints about continuous and incorrect volume adjustment).
Bonus: there is also the option for extra dim (a la Samsung UI) which really helps in dark environments.

Sound in videos and music: a very pleasant surprise a) the balance between the two speakers, b) the clarity in speech and music, c) the "body" of the sound (it has bass that gives a good sensation).
I would like it to have a higher maximum volume.
If I compared it in terms of sound with other phones: The Xiaomi Mi10 sets the benchmark for me, and the Pixel 6 falls slightly behind, but it is relatively close. The sound is better than the OnePlus 8 Pro (in terms of quality, not volume). It has a similar sound to the Poco F3, and I would say that in some aspects, the Pixel 6 is better due to its symmetry and balance, while the Poco has better depth and body.
Finally, the sound can be compared/identified with the Galaxy S20 FE, which, along with the Pixel 6, has the best balance in left-right speakers.

Photos/Videos: Yes, it is a matter of personal preference on how one likes their photos to be captured, but the Pixel 6 definitely gets a top score.
Balance without overemphasizing colors, but at the same time having very accurate exposure.
Night Sight: it is well-known and certainly works exceptionally well.

Video: Very good stabilization, accurate colors, and very good sound recording.

Software: Here it is purely a matter of aesthetic preference, as some may find the UI somewhat "chunky".
However, it remains functional and fast in any case.
Personally, the Samsung One UI, which has made huge improvements, and the Realme UI 3.0 are currently the top operating systems. Let's also include Oxygen OS, which still fully satisfies me (simple and minimalistic, as they say).

Battery: Clearly lasts the day, even with casual gaming, easily having 40% left at the end of the day.
I have managed to go for 2 full days (2 full 24-hour periods) with light to moderate usage, using dark mode.
Charging does require patience, as it definitely takes around 1.5 hours (starting from 15%).

Lastly, the design: If someone puts the Pixel 6 next to the Galaxy S20 FE, it would be difficult to notice the difference. They are so similar.
Yes, it is quite heavy, but that is not necessarily a bad thing, as the sturdy feeling it gives provides a premium sensation.

But why 4 stars instead of 5? Because surely in this price category there are many alternatives that have a larger/higher quality screen and offer 120hz (for me the difference of 120hz is noticeable), providing what we call value for money.

Pixel will always remain a niche brand, but for those who believe in it as a brand, giving it 5 stars is easy.
When Google overcomes the teething problems with its own processor and keeps the pricing of its devices reasonable, then we can talk about value for money.

The entire Google has a problem delivering a complete mobile... they cannot properly communicate the hardware with the software, whether it is the GPS showing different locations or the fingerprint sensor that needs to moisturize our finger according to Google. And the most tragic of all, do not buy a half phone, especially from Greece, because the 5G does not work on Pixels as advertised by mobile companies... Google says it's the providers' fault and the providers blame Google. The phone, even for the Pro model, is not worth it because you are getting an unfinished mobile... Google still needs work to avoid disappointment. And other problems in the era of fast charge, dash charge, and wireless charge, the Pixel charges slowly because that's how Google says it should be, and to go from 50% to 80% it takes 1 hour, and from 80% to 100% you need to say your prayers, so don't look for the latest technology charger, your old reliable one is enough... Google changed the year, they went back to 2018... oh, and the best part is if you have a new car with Android Auto, you played and lost... it doesn't work! And Google is still looking into it! I'm crying, Android doesn't work with Android from mama Google... and these are the major issues with the list of unfinished phones continuing, and if Google can't fix them, because you think it's a software problem, in 2022 it will tell you that's how you received it and the job is done... congratulations, Google.
