  • Well, the review strictly represents my personal taste in hardware and does not imply a "buying guide". I chose this specific motherboard because I wanted the entire build to be gigabyte aorus, and with my budget wanting to stay somewhat low, I chose to stick with DDR4 but also wanted to have high performance, so this one was almost a no-brainer.
Regarding the motherboard itself, it simply has a user-friendly BIOS and a bunch of ports even for the most demanding users.
In terms of temperature, it is excellent as a motherboard. In my open case without airflow, I haven't seen it go above 38°C, although I bought it after summer, so what I'm saying might be subjective. Maybe in the summer, the temperature might be slightly higher.
I don't have an opinion on the cooling ability of the NVMe drives as I have only installed one (in the small slot that has one position), which has its own heatsink, so I can't say anything about the capacity of the custom heatsink.
The collaboration with the gigabyte control center is smooth and hassle-free, and the RGBs synchronize correctly.
Overall, it is a beautiful and high-performance, high-quality construction that is worth paying attention to if you are looking for something in DDR4 (I won't go into comparing it to other branded motherboards because, as I said, it is a personal experience and choice, not a buying guide).
Good luck with your builds, my friends, and happy gaming!

After 7 months of use, let me share my opinion with you. It was installed in my new system that I set up in September 2022 with an i5 12600 socket 1700 processor. Very good motherboard, with many options and plenty of ports. Its temperature is low and the BIOS is easy, with many conveniences, through an application, from the desktop for faster and easier BIOS access. The only thing that bothered me and I didn't give it 5 stars is that after 7 months, the Aorus logo no longer lights up, unlike the rest of the RGB lighting, e.g. fans and motherboard backlight. But the Aorus logo does not. Of course, it has a warranty, but to dismantle the system and send the motherboard back for diagnosis or replacement or repair is an issue. I bought it for 274 euros and it's a shame to have a problem, even this one, after 7 months. It's a pity because otherwise, until now, it is top.
Update 22/11/2025. Finally, after 3+ years of use, the motherboard is PERFECT. No problems, it works at low temperatures and flawlessly. You install it and after the XMP, you forget about it. As for the non-functioning of the Aorus RGB logo, as I discovered, this is due to the GCC settings. With some settings it works, with others it doesn't. I couldn't figure it out. So it's not the motherboard's fault but the poor GCC software from Gigabyte in some respects. So, changing to 5 stars!!!!

Number of doors, if you install an Intel 13th generation processor like me, who plugged in an i7 13700k, you will definitely need a BIOS update, so make sure to tell the store where you will place the order!

Very beautiful motherboard in my opinion, but for this price it had two problems that shouldn't exist. Number one, the RGB Fusion 2.0 drove me crazy until it worked. The LEDs were constantly stuck on one color, resetting or changing the pattern on their own (e.g. from breathing to static). With a simple Google search, I realized that I'm not the only one with this issue, as there are many articles about how to solve it. Number two, and a MUCH more serious issue, is the COIL WHINE. Yes, a 250 euro motherboard and it has coil whine to such an extent that it's infuriating, especially at night. Also, with a quick search on Google, I found out that it's a common problem. Luckily, I found the solution on a forum. By entering the BIOS and disabling the C1E State in the CPU settings, the coil whine almost disappears. However, such a problem is NOT JUSTIFIED. Apart from these issues, the temperatures are good and there are no stability issues.

P.S.: I also had an issue with XMP, but when I updated the BIOS, it worked immediately.

P.S.2: I'm coming back after 9 months of use. No other issues have occurred, such as crashes or anything like that. So, in terms of stability, it gets an excellent rating.

I have a very good motherboard with the i5 12600kf. Specifically, in the beginning, I was given a faulty one and I sent it for warranty because it had a red light on the vga. Everything is fine with this motherboard now, I haven't done any bios update and I'm using it with Windows 11. Additionally, the RGB can be changed with many colors and designs through the RGB Fusion 2.0, which you can download either from the gigabyte website or from the motherboard's utility.

    Verified purchase

Purchase at 280 euros - extra money for what it really deserves - generally, I think the legit price is around 230. Everything else works fine - but my PC was broken and I needed it.

    Overall

Very satisfied, although quite straightforward as a choice. I'm not an expert, but generally, motherboards are mainly about what input outputs you want to have depending on usage (NVMe, USBs, Wi-Fi, etc). Definitely, my advice is to visit the motherboard's official site before making a purchase to be sure about the specifications - and obviously, who sells it at a reasonable price and not overpriced.

    NVMe

It has 4 NVMe slots, all supporting PCIe 4.0 and covered with a plate that helps with temperatures and protects them. One of them has a material underneath like clay - which I suppose helps even more with temperatures (the other 3 don't have it).

    Cons (?)

I think the only negative is that the motherboard didn't come with all the necessary screws to attach it to the case, so I used the old screws I had (again, ATX size) - this surprised me - now, if I were so careless and they were hidden inside the case and I didn't see them? I don't know... if you're someone who doesn't have screws, search a bit more for good and bad options.

    BIOS

Just a note, I had to update the BIOS to make the RAM run at 3600MHz, by default it was running at 2100MHz - and also change some settings with inputs/outputs in UEFI to recognize the hard drives as bootable drives. Nice UI in the BIOS and it recognized all components without any problem.

    SOUND

I don't know if my previous motherboard (7 years old+) had a bad sound card - but the sound is one class higher.

    BONUS

You should know that many companies that had released coolers sell additional kits for 3-4 euros to fit the 1700 socket - like the one I bought (see setup below).

    SETUP Compatibility

    CPU: I7-12700k
RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB DDR4 RAM 3600MHz with 2 Modules (2x16GB)
PSU: Corsair RMx Series RM850x (2021) 850W Full Modular 80 Plus Gold
SSD NVMe: Samsung 980 Pro SSD 1.0TB M.2 NVMe
Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports Duo CPU Cooler with Dual Fans for Socket AM4/1200/115x White + with an additional kit to fit on the 1700 socket -> Arctic LGA1700 assembly kit - Freezer 34
