I paid 55 euros and bought it only because I thought that as a well-known brand it would have good signal reception in a very low signal area where another brand from Plaisio did not work. Indeed, it does have good signal reception. But within a few months of buying it, it is the second time it will go to service! The first time it would turn off by itself and now it doesn't charge. So, once again, I will have to wait for a month for it to go and come back from service in the same city. Other than that, it is a simple phone and it doesn't even have a calendar. It also has the volume button on the side, which my grandmother accidentally pressed and, of course, it wouldn't ring when we called her. This proves that Panasonic didn't think properly that this button wouldn't be convenient for an elderly person. I consider it expensive. In the end, my grandmother couldn't manage with it and the purchase was wasted, although I believe it is a good choice for elderly people. But also for someone who just wants a basic phone to make calls with large buttons. It also has the biggest battery available in such types of phones, which was another reason why I chose it. Finally, I want to mention that if you don't insert a memory card, you can't save photos. It doesn't have enough space.

I got it for an elderly person who only wants to make and answer calls. We are not concerned about the internet, radio, or any other function. So I will judge accordingly. I should mention upfront that I already bought other phones for testing for the elderly, the same month (e.g., Nokia 105 4G, smartphones, etc.) and fortunately, I was saved with this one. Before I bought it and continued to buy phones until I found a good one, I found it open in a large chain store, along with all the others in the market, and I was able to test them all. It is incredibly rare to find open and functional button phones.

It is truly amazing and does its job exceptionally well. If you want it for an elderly person, don't waste your time looking for another. It is perfect, and you will be relieved.

The buttons are hard and clear. You always know what you are pressing with absolute certainty, and they always work. Not like other phones where after a while the keys don't respond, or you press one thing and another gets pressed. Here, you simply can't go wrong.

The sound is clear and loud both for the listener and the speaker. The 2 buttons for up and down can be programmed to do whatever you want. For example, missed calls and messages. It also has speakerphone and vibration.

The ringtones are terrible, but they are loud and do their job just fine.

Also, there are 2 nice features.
1) the flashlight with its own separate button on the side and
2) the back button that you press in case of emergency and it calls the contacts you have designated.

In the future, I will also mention the battery life, which is huge (1400mAh).

I think for an elderly person, I wouldn't want anything absolutely different. If you want it for an elderly person, it is truly possibly the best choice.

In the photos, it is for comparison with the newer Panasonic with buttons 4G KX-TU250 (this is the one with the largest screen) which is indeed better in features, but the KX-TU160 has larger keys and larger numbers on the screen. I also include a photo for comparison with a standard-sized mobile phone 6.1".

*Of course, whoever buys it shouldn't complain that the camera is terrible and can only store 2 photos, it doesn't have a radio, it only takes up to 400 contacts, etc. We said. It is for the elderly. If grandpa wants photos, messages, etc., he should better get a smartphone. If he generally struggles and at the same time wants to see what he is pressing, this phone is the best choice.

**One negative is that the translation into Greek has been done with Google Translate. It is really laughable. For example, "clear" (to delete characters) has been translated as "Καθαρό"! The headset has been translated as "κεφαλόφωνο"!!! In no way does it negate that the phone is amazing.

***Edit after 18 months and without having any problems, I got the Panasonic KX-TU550 which is a clear upgrade from the Panasonic KX-TU160. It is more expensive, but the most important thing for me is that in 2024 someone must choose 4G on a network with VoLTE to have better sound and to hear better as well as to be heard better.

Purchased for my father who doesn't need anything more than to make calls. This brand was chosen because of the name, but also because Nokia no longer has the same glory in devices as it once did, and I've had several pass through my hands, some of which still work. This particular device did not impress me compared to its name. Overall, it is a nice phone, elegant, slim, half the weight of a smartphone, although there is a risk when you put it in your back pocket and sit down that it might snap in two, or at least that's how it feels to me. Its operating system is the typical Nokia style, or at least that's what it reminds me of.
A big downside for me is the sensitive keys, they are pressed at the slightest touch, they feel nice, hard, big, and not rubbery, but if you put it in a tight pocket, they get pressed with every step. This brings up another problem, which is that even though you turn off the key sounds and they are not heard during use, when you lock the keyboard, the sound is heard normally, and of course, every so often when you have it in your pocket, you hear beep-beep from the keys.
The earpiece sound is good, as is the speakerphone volume, which is very strong. However, it was observed that when I inserted an old memory card, because it doesn't have its own, the phone had issues during calls, full of static, and the person on the other end could barely hear, but when the card was removed, the problem disappeared. I don't know if this is due to the age of the no-name card I tried or if the phone just has issues with memory cards, I didn't look into it further because the phone won't be used for that purpose. Also, the ringtones are loud, and it's hard not to hear them.
The flashlight is generally good, but it certainly can't be compared to a smartphone's. It is activated by a sliding switch on the side, which needs a bit of care so it doesn't move by accident.
The screen, which is supposed to be the device's strong point, is good with large digits, but it's definitely not for all eyes; some icons at the top of the screen are so small they can't be distinguished even by younger people, let alone someone with vision problems, and of course, that's who the device is made for. For example, someone can't tell if it's on silent or if there's an unread message, etc.
I won't comment on the camera at all because it makes no sense on such a device; it basically takes photos and videos like a Nokia from over 10 years ago, you don't buy this kind of phone for that use.
A big minus is also that it doesn't have a radio, although I was aware of the lack of a radio, but a phone like this aimed at older people should have a radio.
Battery life is subjective since it depends on use, but if you don't overdo it with calls, you definitely won't need to charge it more than once a week.
The package included handsfree headphones, which are nothing special in terms of sound and microphone, while the charger is type-c USB.
Overall, it's good but definitely not representative of its name or its price, hence the rating. If the price were a bit lower or at least it had a radio, it would be a better choice, and certainly, the only buying criterion is phone calls, nothing more.

Unfortunately, the battery swelled up without any warning, except of course that its performance had dropped. This happened an hour after the last use of the device, fortunately we didn't have fireworks because the device was on a wooden piece of furniture. Also, the phone had started to have some issues with some buttons and we're talking about very simple use. The thing is that the battery costs 20 euros while the whole device costs 55, without any guarantee that it will last a year.
