It works just fine as advertised. Fewer features than the previous hub from the same company, but on the plus side, the door sensor recognizes light intensity.

A little bulkier than I expected. I have an older version that has a significant difference in volume. Overall they do what they say, respond promptly. I have them connected to the Bluetooth hub. I have placed them on aluminum and they work with the recall as well.

It does not work like the older door sensors. It only connects to other Mi devices that have Bluetooth functionality and cannot perform scenes such as triggering the hub alarm when opened. I made a mistake as I read about these limitations afterwards.

CAUTION, however!!! Practically, it does NOT work as a regular trigger for the Xiaomi alarm.
Since this sensor connects exclusively as a Bluetooth device, it must be connected only to the new Xiaomi hub (which has Bluetooth connectivity for devices) that, however, does NOT support alarm functionality.
Even if you have BOTH the old Xiaomi hub (the one with the alarm), despite the fact that the device (the sensor) is visible in the Xiaomi Home app, it is NOT available as an alarm trigger on the old Xiaomi hub as it is connected (necessarily) to the new one.
Personally, I "managed" it somewhat but in an indirect way and with a lot of processes from the automations of the Xiaomi Home app, which is not simple at all and definitely not easy for everyone.
I wonder what they are thinking over there at Xiaomi with their products!!!

Personal oversight but I thought that Bluetooth was an extra feature, not the only way of connection. In other words, if you don't have a hub, it's slightly useless.

Of all the traps in the Xiaomi ecosystem, etc., this is the best. It connected directly without any delay to any hub I tried. It integrates perfectly into the mi home alarm system. It works on both European and Chinese servers (very important).
Compared to the classic Xiaomi traps (like a pill) and the Aqara traps I have purchased, the only difference is the response time of the event (much faster) and it also has a default function where it sends a notification after X minutes that you can set when a door, for example, is opened.
It is not as big as it appears in the photo, it is quite discreet but definitely noticeable and larger compared to the Aqara and the old Xiaomi traps.
Quality upgrade. If I also consider its price, which is very low compared to Aqara products (I really can't understand why...), it is a very good purchase. Speaking of traps, it is the best purchase for products that work with mi home.

With mi hub 3, there are delays in the status indication, while when connected directly to the mobile, the change is more immediate. My Alexa does not recognize it as a sensor, and this is a big drawback. (Note that I also have mi door sensors and aqara, which are ZigBee and are recognized normally, and their status change is more immediate.)

New capabilities from the smart sensor of Xiaomi, as soon as it detects darkness in the environment, it turns on the smart lights of Xiaomi... You can even programmatically create smart scenes!

It connects easily. The Xiaomi app seems very user-friendly to me. I am satisfied and I recommend it as a product. I have had it for 3 months and it hasn't presented any issues. I want to see what the battery life is and how I will be notified when it reaches a low level.
