I am the owner of: Tekken 3 (PS1), Tekken 5 (PS2), Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection (PSP), Tekken Tag Tournament (PS2), Tekken 6 (PS3), Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (PS3), and now Tekken 7 Legendary Edition (PS4).... I have to say the following: The graphics seem a bit outdated. The sound is simply amazing.... The gameplay is as expected, if you have played the previous games..... The additions to L1 and R1 (rage arts) are very good.

The online is okay, but the tournament mode is something else..... It would be great if the online mode was more like Hearthstone. Click, and it matches you with someone of similar level, instantly..... I mean, you have to wait a long time to play against an opponent.

The gallery includes all the video cutscenes from all the Tekken games, which makes you nostalgic for each game you have played, with the resolution of that time.....

The Legendary edition I bought includes a redeem code in the package, which allows you to download extra DLC characters.....

I achieved the platinum trophy in exactly one week..... So, for anyone looking for 43 relatively easy trophies, this is the game.

Buy the game only on discount (spending more than 10€ is a waste for this game). Where do I even begin!
The graphics are so-so, the characters literally shine for some reason and their appearances have changed a lot (Julia, a strong Native American woman who had a dream to plant trees and revive deserts, suddenly became a cringy streamer).

The story is very boring, with a huge focus on Mishima-Kazama, which is okay but only up to a point. The cutscenes are not even cinematic, they just took the in-game models and created something like cutscenes with dialogue (without even hiring the same voice actors). So, even Tekken 5 has better scenes.

There is a huge, pointless focus on online multiplayer, which will only work 2 out of 10 times and the rest of the time it will give a connection error (the connection has been lost as soon as you accept a player). Let's not even talk about the fact that there is no filter for matchmaking! It only has 2 filtering options based on connection quality and language/country. Because of this focus, the offline mode has NOTHING. Literally, the only present modes are Arcade Mode (which only has 5 stages and then game over), treasure battle (which becomes boring because you play on the same stage over and over again), practice mode, and vs mode. All the classic modes from previous Tekken games that made the game less boring are missing (team battle, survival, time attack, Tekken Force/Devil Within, etc).

The music is simply awful! All the songs are stupid, cheap dubstep/EDM-type pieces that don't fit Tekken at all and are not memorable. Thankfully, there is the jukebox (only on PS4) because otherwise, it would be unbearable.

Classic characters that were present in almost all Tekken games are suddenly locked and you have to pay to unlock them (Lei, Anna, Julia, Marduk, Ganryu, Armor King).

I truly regret even the 10€ I spent on this particular game! The only good thing about it was the jukebox (although specific songs were missing for some reason) and the gallery, where you can see all the scenes from previous Tekken games and see the huge difference with 7.

When I first heard about the release of the seventh chapter of the series, I rushed to buy it. I hadn't played Tekken for a long time, so my hype was quite high.

Hours: 200+

Platinum Trophy: Yes

I must admit that I had an EXCEPTIONAL time with the game. I had fun, I beat the AI and online enemies. Countless hours. It was the Tekken game I was expecting to play. The reasons I liked it were the following:

- Beautiful graphics
- Nice character design
- Addition of Rage
- Countless Skins. You can customize your character as you like.
- Decent story mode (I will analyze it in the negatives)
- Changes in the stages (changing the OST)
- Excellent/complex combat system.
- Countless hours of fun if you have friends and family. You'll be fighting until the sun goes down.

However, I was also greatly disappointed with the game. Why?

1. The mediocre Story. I didn't like those mini-cutscenes with the journalist, they could have made it a clean CGI-in game cutscene to make it more visually appealing. Also, it was too short in duration. It had a great concept, a good foundation, but it didn't take advantage of it at all (except for the final battle, which was EPIC). They could have done better.

2. They removed the Eye of the Tiger from the Mini-games. It was one of the most important parts of the game. Of course, they added some OTHERS, but of course, you have to pay for them with real money. (If I'm not mistaken, there is only 1 mini-game as DLC, which is bowling)

3. Money? Are you an old Tekken fan who played the story mode of a character to see their ending and unlock new characters? We laughed. PAY. For me, this is the biggest flaw of the game to the point where I won't bother anymore. If they had put the character in the game and I could buy them with in-game currency as well as real money, then okay. Of course, Mr. George asks for a lot. They put old characters that we loved in the DLC to tempt you (e.g. Armor King, Julia, etc.)

Additionally, the new characters in Tekken 7 were bad. They didn't offer anything compared to Tekken 5 and Tekken 6.

Don't complain about the DLC characters, you can buy the Legendary edition of the game that includes all of them for only 25 euros. I paid 55 euros for the regular edition (back in 2017) and got ripped off with Yoshimitsu's costumes.

4. Bad online. I had many issues with lag and finding opponents with good internet connection (back in 2017, it may have changed after so many years).

5. Although the graphics look exceptional, the characters sometimes look like they've taken steroids. This "fake" body unfortunately doesn't look nice at all (e.g. Law, Devil Jin, etc.)

6. I mentioned in point 3 that you could choose a character and play their story. Unfortunately, they removed it or rather changed it for the worse. To see the "story" (even an f(x) story, may God make it), you only play one battle with a certain character and watch a cutscene, and that's it. In the past, you played 9-10 fights and it was very interesting. Why was it interesting? You learned about the characters, and when you finished the story, you unlocked a new character. It had a point to what you were doing.

7. Very mediocre soundtrack. The series is known for its awesome OST. Unfortunately, they didn't do such a good job here. Out of the 20 OSTs, only 3 are good. Don't even compare the OSTs of Tekken 3 and Tekken 5 with Tekken 7. It's like day and night.

Conclusion:

As a Tekken game, I consider it mediocre. They had a huge opportunity and they missed it. Anyone interested or wanting to play such a game should buy it with their eyes closed. For 15 euros (Standard edition) or 25 euros (Legendary edition), it is a great price.

Good craftsmanship

Let's start from the beginning. Most of us have been waiting for this game since 2015, especially those of us, including myself, who have had a history with the series. Personally, I have spent countless hours playing Tag Tournament 2 and Tekken 6. Many of us believed that it would be the king, as Namco Bandai had implied. However, the expected legend did not live up to the hype. Simply put, the game is a disappointment for me. It's not bad, but it has too many shortcomings that cannot be justified considering the amount of time the creators had to work on it. Firstly, in my opinion, the worst characteristic is the fact that it has an excessively short story. In more detail, I bought it one day after its release. As a gamer who has been involved with the series, as I mentioned before, it took me no more than two hours and fifteen minutes to finish it. Although it wasn't bad as a story, it was very concise. Of course, I know that the story is not the reason you would buy the game, but I still believe that they should have worked on it more. It should be noted that the dialogues are very confusing. A characteristic example is the dialogue between Heihachi and Nina, where one speaks in Japanese and the other in English. The same applies to the rest of the characters. In conclusion, Tekken 7 is a big disappointment for me, and I believe that those of you who want to buy it should wait until its price drops.
