Description

Description

The first American edition of this text was published under the title Biochemistry in 1975. In the years that followed, "Stryer's Biochemistry," as it became widely known, radically changed the way this scientific field was taught in the English-speaking world.

The same happened in Greece when the first edition in Greek appeared, which was published in two volumes in 1994 and 1995, and was a translation of the third American edition. For four consecutive decades, the fundamental characteristics of the successive editions of the text, in both English and Greek, have remained unchanged: excellent organization of the material, clarity of expression, rich illustrations, description of the latest research techniques and advances in theoretical research, and the connection of biochemical phenomena and processes with the theory of evolution, physiology, and medicine.

The exact same features characterize the latest Greek edition you are holding, which is a translation of the ninth (and most recent) American edition.
