Description
A versatile 4K camcorder with broadcast-quality, offering advanced autofocus, connectivity, and streaming for demanding productions.
Excellent imaging
The large 1.0-type CMOS sensor and DIGIC DV7 processor work harmoniously to deliver 4K UHD 60P/50P resolution in 4:2:2 10bit XF-AVC and MP4 formats, as well as FHD 120P HFR for exceptional image quality and post-production flexibility. The 15x zoom lens of the L series ensures optical superiority, while the powerful 5-axis Image Stabilization provides outstanding clarity on the move.
Recording Flexibility
The XF605 offers XF-AVC and MP4 recording formats, which are particularly suitable for broadcast material. Enhanced recording features include Slow and Fast motion modes (up to 120P), Pre-record, Frame recording, and Interval recording. There is an extensive range of Custom Picture presets, combined with support for Look-Up Tables (3D LUT), while simultaneous recording to two SD cards in a variety of formats provides maximum flexibility for your production needs.
High sensitivity and wide dynamic range
Capture footage with extended dynamic range in Canon Log 3 for flexibility in post-production or shoot broadcast-ready footage directly in PQ or HLG HDR formats. The High Sensitivity mode, Gain Boost, and IR Recording ensure that the XF605 captures high-quality images in low light conditions.
Pioneering AF Technology
The XF605 is the first camcorder in the XF series to feature Eye Detection AF and Canon's Intelligent Tracking technology EOS iTR AF X, ensuring that focus remains locked on the subject's head even when it turns away from the camera. Other focus assistance tools include the Dual Pixel Focus Guide that aids in manual focusing and Tracking AF for smooth tracking of any subject.
Professional-level connectivity
The XF605 supports a versatile range of connections, such as 12G-SDI, Ethernet, and XLR, for seamless integration into production environments for live broadcasting or recording. Support for simultaneous output via EVF/LCD/HDMI/SDI allows for multiple viewing and external recording using various devices. A multifunction accessory shoe extends its capabilities through a range of new accessories.
Remote Control and Network Functions
The XF605 is designed for IP streaming, with wired and wireless remote control capabilities, offering greater control and integration in multi-camera productions. Take control of the XF605 in a multi-camera setup along with Canon's PTZ cameras via the physical RC-IP100 controller or use Wi-Fi connection to operate the XF605 through the enhanced Browser Remote for smartphones and tablets. The video output via USB-C allows the XF605 to be used as a Web camera.
Content Transfer Mobile App
The Content Transfer Mobile application for iPhone is designed to allow the editing of metadata compatible with the News ML-G2 standard before/after recording, as well as importing material from the camera to the phone, including direct transfer to FTP servers.
Usability and Flexibility
The enhanced touchscreen functions include playback control and menu navigation for easy adjustment of settings, while the 11 user-programmable buttons and independent lens control rings offer control of Focus, Zoom, and Iris, for smart handling and customization. The built-in motorized ND system provides additional flexibility for controlling lighting and depth of field in various shooting conditions.
Durability and lightweight
With a particularly small size and weight of approximately 2,000 grams, the XF605 is the ideal tool you can take with you everywhere. Despite its small dimensions, it is a productive camcorder with excellent capabilities and a design that offers protection from dust and moisture.
