In the field of applications, lithium batteries are used as power solutions. The reason for monitoring the two most important parameters is the booster and the battery charger. These two parameters are prerequisites for the system. The classic power boost and battery charging circuit is usually divided into two separate parts, making the circuit quite complex to create.

The Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) MP2636 is a highly integrated, flexible switch-mode battery charger with system power path management, designed for single-cell Li-ion or Li-Polymer batteries used in a wide range of portable applications. It is very easy to use: just connect a lipo battery, and it works like a power bank. When there is an external power source from VIN, it automatically charges the battery, and the LED CHG lights up; when there is no external power and only the battery is connected to the battery port, the boost will be active.

  • Input voltage in charge mode (VIN): 4.5-6.0V

  • Suitable battery voltage: 4.2V (the lithium battery 3.7V full at 4.2V)
