Description

Can the storms of life make you stronger? Can fear help you evolve? Have you learned to forgive yourself? Do you see the past as a burden or have you overcome it? The answers to these questions are the keys to loving ourselves – and life. Because the truth is that – contrary to what we have been taught – we are born to be happy.

Psychologist Agni Mariakaki guides us step by step in reconciling with the unpleasant experiences that keep us stuck in the past and shows us how we can transform them into tools for a better life. Through her valuable knowledge, the narratives of true stories, and her personal confessions become an understandable and invaluable map of our psyche. Agni Mariakaki reminds us what happiness means, how to acquire it, and – most importantly – that we deserve it!

REVIEWS

“An inexhaustible text, it creates a fantastic dialectical communication between the author and the reader, as her work is a synthesis of her experiences and a distillation of her experiences. The poetic nature of her mental explorations leads to symbolic marvels. The artistic extension of her words shapes her ideas into verbal images, insisting on the systematic exploration of the mind and soul, sweetly unraveling the fabric of truth. With her book, Agni Mariakaki consents to the eternal game of love for life!” Dr. Maria Doropoulou, Intercultural Education, Department of Psychology, Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences

“Having spent most of my life studying trauma and PTSD, I am grateful for students and companions like Agni Mariakaki, who in her book shows the other side of pain, the unseen. That is, she presents how within the great problems of humanity lie supreme solutions of compassion, strength, and the ability to find joy and develop.” Dr. Jane Simington, Professor of Psychology, in collaboration with the University of Alberta, Canada

“Agni Mariakaki in her book highlights how the great difficulties in a person's life can ultimately be gateways to an inner uplift. Weaving her true and very vivid stories with scientific insights, she shows how one can seize the meaning of life through pain itself. I am grateful for this unique perspective.” Eleni Vougioukalou, President of the Open People's University

Read an excerpt

"We took our life wrong, and we changed life," writes Seferis. For me, this happened when I finally grasped the meaning and essence of failure.

That is, when I grasped this shocking and great truth, that failure is not an effort without result. On the contrary!

There is no failure without a successful start... even if the outcome of the start ended in vain. Failure is a law of nature. You were born because a few million sperm cells failed to find the egg and gave the opportunity to that one, the liveliest and fastest, to succeed and for you to be here today, breathing and reading this book."

Simply excellent! I read it and changed my way of thinking in many areas! The stories it includes make it easy to read but also explain through examples what the author supports, making you see that many people go through what you are experiencing too. I highly recommend it.

    Tired in reading and understanding.
Smart writing from the author to make any reader love books in general. The positive thing is that it is experiential to a great extent.
With not a few words but with many, a book for every library and for all ages.
One reads it again and again because it simply addresses all of us, whether a little or a lot, on each page.

Get it yesterday!! Mrs. Mariakaki is excellent and I recommend you to follow her on social media, especially on YouTube where she uploads exceptional educational and advisory videos on her channel, helping thousands of people with everyday problems and more.
Her book takes you by the hand with a humorous and affectionate writing style to heal your soul from various issues (fears, insecurities, anxieties, obstacles, life problems, and many more). It is a useful guide to help you "find happiness" and open up the way you think and perceive things until now, "improving" your beliefs and, consequently, your life. Read it again and again, carefully and with effort to reflect on what it deals with, in order to find application in your own life and unsolvable "torments". Get it as a gift for someone you love.

Simple language, understandable but also artistically tied to the Cretan dialect. Rich language, full, juicy, without frills or incomprehensible concepts. It explains and analyzes with sensitivity, humility, but also humor complex meanings and interesting events that happened to her or that she learned about from others. It is definitely worth reading. I am eagerly awaiting her next book. Until then, I enjoy her on her YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/AgnesAliceMariakaki/videos

In every chapter, there are boring stories that become tiresome, supposedly related to the chapter's topic. I didn't like anything about this book. I finished it reluctantly and forcefully, just to give it a chance before throwing it away. It won't be included in my library.

I have read several self-improvement books in my life. This one is among the best so far. It analyzes the emotions of fear, anger, rejection, failure, and many others through real (and non-real) events. Nice, structured thinking, a definite purchase for someone who wants to explore themselves and the meaning of life further.

An excellent book that gives you the understanding that life is beautiful even in the bad times. Even more so when it is in the bad times that you see the bigger picture of yourself.

Enjoyable, full of humor and enthusiasm, but still thorough, insightful, extremely practical, and highly recommended... you come out of reading it with a smile and a better mood. Therapeutic.

  • Simply excellent! I read it and changed my way of thinking in many areas! The stories it includes make it easy to read but also explain through examples what the author supports, making you see that many people go through what you are experiencing too. I highly recommend it.

  • Tired in reading and understanding.
Smart writing from the author to make any reader love books in general. The positive thing is that it is experiential to a great extent.
With not a few words but with many, a book for every library and for all ages.
One reads it again and again because it simply addresses all of us, whether a little or a lot, on each page.

  • Get it yesterday!!

  • Excellent book for the beginning of self-improvement, as well as for those who are going through a phase of sadness and want to find motivation for life again. This book is like a ringing in your mind to remind you to live.
