The Ryobi RBIRT08 infrared thermometer measures surface temperatures without contact, from -50 °C to 550 °C. Its circular 8-point laser projection helps identify the measurement area, while the 8:1 distance-to-spot ratio allows it to measure a surface 1 m in diameter from a distance of 8 m. It can also be used to locate hot and cold spots, inspect air ducts and monitor energy efficiency.

The display can be set to °C or °F using an internal switch. The device emits an audible signal when measurement begins and displays a continuous reading while the trigger is held down.
