In the grounds of the old Rizarios Ecclesiastical School, three churches named after St. George were successively erected, which once coexisted.
A chapel aged 120 years, which was preserved until the 1960s, a second church built parallel to the first building of the School that operated from 1845 until 1898, the year it was demolished, and a third one, the current one, which was inaugurated in 1898.
This study follows the history of these churches based mainly on unpublished material from the archives of the Rizarios School, providing a clearer and more reliable picture of the chronological, topographical, architectural, hagiographical, and other elements that compose the identity of these churches.
