It uses minimum power consumption to achieve the optimal temperature. It takes 4 days, after installation, to "learn" the room temperatures and adjust them in order to calculate the correct starting temperature of the device. After 96 hours of "self-training", the function allows the convector heater to determine on its own when it should be activated to achieve the desired temperature in the room, at the specified time set by the user.
