The book by Kenneth S. Krane Introduction to Nuclear Physics, since its first edition in English in 1987 to the present day, has become the most widely used textbook for teaching Nuclear Physics, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels in universities across the USA and Great Britain, and it has been translated for use in higher education into many other languages.

It is divided into four main sections that cover introductory concepts and basic nuclear structure, nuclear decay and the phenomenon of radioactivity, nuclear reactions, and finally the many and extremely useful implications and applications of nuclear physics and associated phenomena for humanity.
