I needed a simple unmanaged switch with the ability to power other devices through PoE, but also to be Gigabit. This particular switch met all the criteria and having already had experience with similar networking equipment from TP-Link in the past, I decided to get this one.
I have had it for a few months now and so far I have had absolutely no issues and I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a similar device. If you want it for powering IP cameras, keep in mind that only 4 out of the 8 ports are PoE enabled, so if you have more than 4 cameras, you will need to go for another option.
Χρειαζόμουν ένα απλό unmanaged switch με δυνατότητα τροφοδοσίας άλλων συσκευών μεσώ PoE το οποίο όμως να είναι και Gigabit. Το συγκεκριμένο switch πληρούσε όλα τα κριτήρια και έχοντας ήδη εμπειρία με αντίστοιχο δικτυακό εξοπλισμό από την TP-Link κατά το παρελθόν αποφάσισα να πάρω αυτό.
Το έχω εδώ και μερικούς μήνες και ως τώρα δεν είχα κανένα απολύτως θέμα και το συστήνω ανεπιφύλακτα σε όποιον χρειάζεται μία παρόμοια συσκευή. Εάν το θέλετε για τροφοδοσία IP καμερών έχετε μόνο υπόψη σαν ότι PoE enabled είναι μόνο οι 4 από τις 8 θύρες, οπότε αν έχετε πάνω από 4 κάμερες θα χρειαστείτε να πάτε σε κάποιο άλλο.
Once again, this company pleasantly surprises me. I had the 5-port SG-105 from the same company for over 5 years, which worked perfectly, like a loyal war dog. I wanted an 8-port and for some reason that I still don't fully understand, I bought the Netgear GS-608. Big mistake, but as the wise people say, "Don't change a winning team," and it seems to apply to hardware as well. To synchronize at 1000, I had to perform a ritual, plugging and unplugging cables, changing cables, and when it got too complicated, sometimes I had to manually connect it. It was a mess, so I got rid of it and bought this one. In just 5 minutes, everything fell into place, it connected at 1000 in fractions of a second, and it didn't even budge with a 12 Richter earthquake. Two computers, two NAS, two Raspberry Pis with Kodi for streaming, and powerline providing connectivity throughout the rest of the house. The PoE worked flawlessly, powering a Raspberry Pi with a PoE HAT. Very satisfied, I won't change it again.
Edit 12/20: I'm coming back after almost 1.5 years of use. It hasn't had any issues, no problems at all, it hasn't even hiccuped. I bought a second one because I ran out of ports. I also connected two Ubiquiti FlexHD APs to it, and they work perfectly!

Πολύ κακώς, αλλά ο σοφός λαός λέει "Ομάδα που κερδίζει δεν αλλάζει" και φαίνεται ισχύει και στο hardware. Για να συγχρονίσει στα 1000 έπρεπε να κάνεις ευχέλαιο, βάλε-βγάλε καλώδια, άλλαξε καλώδια και όταν με τα πολλά κλείδωνε κάποιες φορές έπαιρνα και τη σύνδεση στο χέρι. Έφυγε σκουπίδια και πήρα αυτό. Σε 5 λεπτάκια έπεσαν όλα επάνω του, συνδέθηκε στα 1000 σε κλάσματα δευτερολέπτου και δεν κούναγε ούτε με σεισμό 12 ρίχτερ. Δύο υπολογιστές, δύο NAS, δύο Raspberri Pi με Kodi για streaming και powerline να δίνει στο υπόλοιπο σπίτι. Το PoE έπαιξε με την πρώτη τροφοδοτώντας ένα Raspberry Pi με PoE HAT. Πολύ ικανοποιημένος, δεν ξαναλλάζω.

Χρειαζόμουν ένα απλό unmanaged switch με δυνατότητα τροφοδοσίας άλλων συσκευών μεσώ PoE το οποίο όμως να είναι και Gigabit. Το συγκεκριμένο switch πληρούσε όλα τα κριτήρια και έχοντας ήδη εμπειρία με αντίστοιχο δικτυακό εξοπλισμό από την TP-Link κατά το παρελθόν αποφάσισα να πάρω αυτό.
Το έχω εδώ και μερικούς μήνες και ως τώρα δεν είχα κανένα απολύτως θέμα και το συστήνω ανεπιφύλακτα σε όποιον χρειάζεται μία παρόμοια συσκευή. Εάν το θέλετε για τροφοδοσία IP καμερών έχετε μόνο υπόψη σαν ότι PoE enabled είναι μόνο οι 4 από τις 8 θύρες, οπότε αν έχετε πάνω από 4 κάμερες θα χρειαστείτε να πάτε σε κάποιο άλλο.
Once again, this company pleasantly surprises me. I had the 5-port SG-105 from the same company for over 5 years, which worked perfectly, like a loyal war dog. I wanted an 8-port and for some reason that I still don't fully understand, I bought the Netgear GS-608. Big mistake, but as the wise people say, "Don't change a winning team," and it seems to apply to hardware as well. To synchronize at 1000, I had to perform a ritual, plugging and unplugging cables, changing cables, and when it got too complicated, sometimes I had to manually connect it. It was a mess, so I got rid of it and bought this one. In just 5 minutes, everything fell into place, it connected at 1000 in fractions of a second, and it didn't even budge with a 12 Richter earthquake. Two computers, two NAS, two Raspberry Pis with Kodi for streaming, and powerline providing connectivity throughout the rest of the house. The PoE worked flawlessly, powering a Raspberry Pi with a PoE HAT. Very satisfied, I won't change it again.
Edit 12/20: I'm coming back after almost 1.5 years of use. It hasn't had any issues, no problems at all, it hasn't even hiccuped. I bought a second one because I ran out of ports. I also connected two Ubiquiti FlexHD APs to it, and they work perfectly!
Για άλλη μια φορά η εταιρία αυτή με εκπλήσει ευχάριστα. Είχα για πάνω από 5 χρόνια το 5-πορτο της ίδιας εταιρίας SG-105 που έπαιζε άριστα, μάυρο σκυλί του πολέμου. Ήθελα 8-πορτο και για κάποιο λόγο που ούτε εγώ ακόμα καλά καταλαβαίνω αγόρασα το Netgear GS-608. Πολύ κακώς, αλλά ο σοφός λαός λέει "Ομάδα που κερδίζει δεν αλλάζει" και φαίνεται ισχύει και στο hardware. Για να συγχρονίσει στα 1000 έπρεπε να κάνεις ευχέλαιο, βάλε-βγάλε καλώδια, άλλαξε καλώδια και όταν με τα πολλά κλείδωνε κάποιες φορές έπαιρνα και τη σύνδεση στο χέρι. Έφυγε σκουπίδια και πήρα αυτό. Σε 5 λεπτάκια έπεσαν όλα επάνω του, συνδέθηκε στα 1000 σε κλάσματα δευτερολέπτου και δεν κούναγε ούτε με σεισμό 12 ρίχτερ. Δύο υπολογιστές, δύο NAS, δύο Raspberri Pi με Kodi για streaming και powerline να δίνει στο υπόλοιπο σπίτι. Το PoE έπαιξε με την πρώτη τροφοδοτώντας ένα Raspberry Pi με PoE HAT. Πολύ ικανοποιημένος, δεν ξαναλλάζω.
Edit 12/20: Επανέρχομαι μετά από σχεδόν 1,5 χρόνο χρήσης. Δεν έχει πάθει τίποτα, δεν έχει βγάλει κανένα απολύτως πρόβλημα, δεν έχει κανει κιχ. Πήρα και 2ο γιατί μου τελείωσαν οι πόρτες. Πάνω του συνδέθηκαν και δύο Ubiquiti FlexHD APs, λειτουργούν άριστα!
Connected easily and has been stable for almost a month.
Συνδέθηκε εύκολα και εδώ και σχεδόν ένα μήνα είναι σταθερότατο.
