Track and Field returns to the Nintendo DS console with new features that offer players alternative ways to play without the need for constant button-mashing. While button-mashing remains, Sumo Digital provides a new experience using the DS's touch screen and stylus for character control.
A total of 24 different sports are offered, including:
- 100m Sprint
- Long Jump
- Javelin
- 110m Hurdles
- Skeet Shooting
- Triple Jump
- Breast Stroke
- Weightlifting
- Double Trap
- High Jump
- Horizontal Bar
- Rowing
- Back Stroke
- Cycling
Character design has been done by Udon Studios, featuring classic Konami characters joining the madness. Simon Belmont, for instance, will have to throw stakes at bats to find his way against Dracula.
The game includes multiple multiplayer features, including online play for four players and multiplayer with a single copy of the game on one console. There is also a website that tracks user statistics and enhances the online community.
