This book is a distilled essence of thousands of training units from 25 years of coaching career. It is a comprehensive guide to the coaching process, from the challenging yet dream-filled early years in Preveza and Karditsa, through the promotions with Paniliakos, Thrasivoulos, Levadiakos, Olympiakos Volou, and AEL in the Super League, to Aris, the cup final, and the European games with Asteras Tripolis.
The book consists of 3 sections. The first is entitled "Total Coaching Approach" and lays out the fundamental principles within which a training unit and the coaching of a football team should be structured. Concepts such as approach, style of play, tactics, strategy, and game plan are analyzed.
The second section, titled "Problems and Solutions," analyzes and presents entire training units based on problems identified during matches. Specific exercises are proposed for progressive targeting and improvement of the issue. The structure of the training unit is based on the total method and includes direct exercises through sub-group and group relationships regarding both our system and that of the opponent. The approach always includes a theoretical reference to the problem, the way of thinking, and the methodology that should be followed.
The third section provides a practical exercise catalog to enrich the training. The catalog focuses on specific areas of the football game such as: passing game, transitions, finishing, technical-mental exercises, and tactics. All exercises in the second and third parts are presented with colored diagrams. For better understanding, they are also accompanied by video animations, which can be viewed on any device by scanning the QR code next to each exercise.
