The book From Jesus to Jesus... through Darwin is the personal testimony of Christian de Duve (Nobel Prize in Medicine 1974), from the dogmatic upbringing of his childhood, with the "first Jesus" of catechism, built by Christian imagination around the historical figure, to the revelation of reason, illuminated by science (hence the reference to Darwin).

The author's research in Biochemistry and Cell Biology led him to question faith, especially when religious expressions clashed with scientific data.

In a conversion, and with prudence, he sees a "second Jesus," the wise man, beyond the mythical guise and normative confines, stripped of any miraculous attribute assigned to him, and the creator of a message of Love, compatible with biological evolution, even imperative, if the human species is to counteract behaviors that lead it to future dead ends.
