The Rida fabric dye in a sachet is ideal for washing machines or hand washing. It dyes 500 grams of cotton, linen, and viscose (dry fabric) or 200 grams of cotton-wool, wool, nylon, lycra, and animal silk (dry fabric), which can withstand 90 degrees Celsius. One of the essential sewing supplies that should definitely not be missing from your collection.
Instructions for Using Rida Fabric Dye in a Container:
- Wear gloves before starting.
- Dissolve the dye in one (1) kilogram of warm water.
- In a metal container/pot, add 10 kilograms of warm water.
- Pour the dissolved dye into the container.
- Place the clothes in the container and stir while boiling for 45 minutes.
- Remove the clothes and rinse them with lukewarm water, then dry them in the shade.
- For cotton, linen, viscose, and cotton-wool, add 100 grams of salt with the dye.
- For wool, nylon, lycra, and animal silk, add 50 grams of vinegar.
Instructions for Dyeing in the Washing Machine:
- Pour the dye into the washing machine drum and add 100 grams of salt. Then place the clothes in the drum.
- Set the washing machine to 90 degrees Celsius (without pre-wash) on a full cycle.
- Dry the clothes in the shade.
- Immediately after dyeing, run another wash at 90 degrees Celsius with only bleach and detergent on a full cycle to clean the drum.
- The next wash should preferably be with dark clothes to minimize the risk of any remaining dye staining light-colored clothes.
General Instructions
- Rida fabric dyes do not dye bleach stains. For clothes that have been bleached, first use a special DISCOLORATION agent and then apply the fabric dye.
- Dry dyed clothes in a shaded area.
- Clothes containing polyester or acrylic fibers do not dye. Sometimes a lighter shade of the dye is achieved.
- When clothes have stains or patterns, the dye does not cover them. However, it changes the shade.
- On white fabrics, you achieve the shade seen in the color chart. On any other base color, the shade changes.
- If you want to dye dark clothes to a lighter shade, first remove the color and then apply the dye of your choice.
- Always wear gloves to avoid allergies or staining your hands.
