The Critics have already completed two years of operation as a philosophical magazine whose pages are dedicated exclusively to the publication of philosophical book reviews. According to its founding self-definition, the magazine aims to serve as a platform for scientific dialogue and philosophical criticism, seeking a scientifically valid and timely assessment of the value of recent publications in the field of philosophy, as well as from related disciplines.

The main goal of the magazine is to de-stigmatize criticism. We strive for free, fertile, and rigorous evaluation and assessment of the philosophical work produced in Greece, as well as selected foreign-language publications that pique the interest of the reviewers. Our aim is to liberate philosophical discussion from the friend-foe dichotomy, which continues to largely direct developments in the peaceful philosophical community.

This community, quantitatively larger and qualitatively evidently better than ever, is still seeking ways and means that will allow it to operate solely on terms of academic integrity and scientific rigor. The fifteen texts in this volume are indicative of the diversity of peaceful philosophical work and publishing output, as well as the interests of the community members collaborating with the magazine as authors.
