Very good machine. The only thing you need to pay attention to is finding the ideal grind, because if you use very fine grounds, it doesn't make crema, and if you use coarse grounds, pressing the plunger is quite difficult.

corresponding coffee with a good machine.
it's a bit of a hassle to clean etc., but for a coffee when you're on the road it's perfect.

Can make better than bar quality coffee, sometimes from their own beans. However, every coffee roast needs slightly different parameters. It's usually enough to adjust preinfusion time/depth or overall time of brewing, while keeping the same grind size. The original 18g basket needs 10% finer grinding than typical espresso, otherwise there will be no crema. It is possible to apply a pressurized 51mm basket with normal holes and it works well, both with pre-ground coffees and single espressos with the same grind as with the 18g basket. I have a Feggrini 14g basket for that. I don't recomment the Wacaco original 12g basket because it's hard to achieve consistent results. You may want to choose some better WDT. Also Wacaco offers pseudo-leather sleeves and I recommend to use one because the device gets hot.

It is a very powerful tool! I am waiting for the gauge to come back in stock so I can also play with different profiles. With the right coffee (freshly roasted, freshly ground) you get crazy results. It takes time to tune each coffee, but that's the beauty of it

5 stars for the convenience of having the best possible espresso in special conditions. From extreme camping etc. to just a simple weekend outside the house. It definitely requires some familiarity, getting used to it a bit, and some preparation (e.g. hot water), but the quality of the coffee is the closest thing to professional machines.

I bought it to take with me on hikes-camping because I think it saves space compared to carrying gas canisters, pots, etc., and of course to drink a more quality coffee instead of instant!
The downside is that two of its materials (photo) do not fit in its case, and I have to find somewhere else to place them.
The coffee grind, as I read in a previous comment, should be fine (I will apply this next time).
I tried it with cold water, and it reminded me of Cold Brew!!! And with hot water, it is very good!!!
One negative is that at this price, many will wonder why not buy a fixed automatic machine... but as I mentioned, I got it to have it with me.

Update: the coffee should be ground like in professional machines! And it actually makes equally good espresso!

Very good espresso. It needs a good grinder. Finely ground coffee. In combination with the base, grinder, and scale from wacaco, the result is aesthetically exceptional as you can achieve the perfect espresso in extraction times and a 1/2 ratio.

Very honest, it does what it promises. You just need to have a kettle with temperature control to achieve good results. I don't know what happens with spare parts if something goes wrong.

The coffee that can be brewed at home is superior to most hand-sold coffee washes. However, unrelated to the object, with a little effort, I learned how to make my favorite freddo cappuccino (aka. chocolate Moroccan) and play with the dosage of coffee and grams of water in relation to the intensity of the coffee.

    The best device from Wacaco!
If you have a good grinding mill, it makes excellent espresso.
Of course, you will need to make several attempts until you find the right grind size for each coffee.
When we say a good mill, we mean one with metal blades and not ceramic ones.
For now, I grind with a Hero S01 with metal blades like the timemore c2, but with more rotations for more grind size options.
It goes without saying that with a better mill, you will have better results.
Additionally, it also takes upgrades such as the 51 mm IMS basket for more uniform extraction.

It makes very good coffee in combination with a good grinder (I use a manual one) and a good selection of coffee beans.

BUT, within less than 2 months, the screws that attach the basket/Porta filter broke, causing water leakage during extraction and gradually unscrewing. I sent it back to have the problem fixed and I am waiting for a response!!!

It makes very good espresso, with rich real cream and not the foam of capsule machines, equal to a café. It is necessary to combine it with a good grinder, so that you can adjust the grinding of the coffee to achieve the best result (because it is difficult to find a good electric grinder at a low price, I suggest buying a manual Porlex or Hario and you will do your job very well).
As a negative aspect, many people may consider the fact that the whole process, from grinding the coffee (assuming that the grinder is manual) to washing the device's components after brewing the coffee, takes about a quarter of an hour. However, if you enjoy dealing with coffee, you will not see it as a negative. However, the portability, the fact that it does not take up any space on the kitchen counter, and the final result will justify it for you!
