Pericles G. Kallimanopoulos was a prominent figure in Greek shipping. He was one of the few Greek shipowners who dared to venture into the particularly demanding field of scheduled lines, especially at a time when any new 'entrant' - even more so if they came from Southeast Mediterranean countries - faced the universal opposition of the traditional Northern European major 'players' in the industry.
Thanks to his personality characterized by hard work, perseverance, perfectionism, courage, and total dedication to his vision, no matter how challenging it was, he managed to 'sail' against the tide, achieving the establishment of a business group that provided valuable services in the field of international maritime transport under the flag of his homeland.
