Pippi Longstocking lives in Villa Villekulla with a monkey and a horse. She always does whatever she wants and is incredibly strong. The other kids are bursting with jealousy, and the adults find her unbearable until they get to know her.

Anika and Tommy are her two friends who live in the next house. Sometimes they are baffled by their friend's strange ways, but they admire her for her kindness, generosity, and her ability to make even the dullest moment exciting.
