The enactment of Law 4673/2020 regarding agricultural cooperatives made it necessary to publish a book on agricultural cooperatives.
The study and research of cooperative law topics are essential, on the one hand, due to the economic and social significance of these businesses since the early 20th century in Greece, and on the other hand, because of the importance attributed to cooperative enterprises and their advantages by the European Union. This is why the EU also issued Regulation (EC) 1435/2003 of the Council of 22 July 2003, concerning the European Cooperative.
Greek cooperative legislation, despite frequent modifications, has contributed to the development of agricultural cooperatives, which serve as a link between producers and markets.
The book examines the relationship between agricultural cooperatives and social transformations and social cohesion on the one hand, and on the other hand, the provisions of the new law for agricultural cooperatives 4673/2020. At the same time, efforts were made to meet educational needs and to serve as a useful tool for stakeholders in the agricultural cooperative sector.
