Description

Description

The relationships between tourism and popular culture, and its reception in Greece, have engaged Greek folkloric literature since the 1970s. However, those early bibliographic attempts did not have the expected continuity, resulting in this issue becoming a research field for other social sciences related to folklore, such as ethnology and social anthropology. Meanwhile, Greek folkloric literature did not follow the corresponding developments of other international, European, and non-European folklores that systematically dealt with this topic.

Certainly, this current volume does not aim to fill this gap, which requires a whole series of specialized monographs. However, it aspires to serve as a catalyst for restarting the relevant scientific dialogue from the perspective of folklore, given that tourism and its various consequences are a subject of research for many different branches of science both in our country and abroad.
