This work aims to provide constructive criticism of Mr. Alexis Papachelas's work "A Dark Room 1967-1974. Ioannidis and the Trap of Cyprus - Oil in the Aegean - The Role of the Americans" (Metaichmio Publications, 2021).

It does not necessarily seek to criticize but primarily to complement. Chapter by chapter, it highlights the correct and the incorrect, explores the shortcomings, fills in the omissions, and reaches conclusions: It reveals unknown historical facts that are not mentioned, such as: Papadopoulos's stance during the Jordan Crisis (Sept. 1970), the Greek-American crisis (Aug. 1971), the resignation from free aid (Jan. 1973), the inter-Cypriot talks (1972-73), the unknown National Security Council (Oct. 1973), the secret planning of politicalization and elections (Nov. 1973), unknown aspects of the Ioannidis regime, the moves for G. Papadopoulos's return, etc.
