Originally developed at the Custom Shop for Hamer® guitars, the Phat Cat™ is essentially a standard-sized single-coil P-90, fitted into a "package" humbucker, making it compatible with any guitar that has the corresponding humbucker pickup slots.

The tone is full and thick (fat-phat!). It uses two Alnico 2 magnets for better sustain and a softer attack. Additionally, the metal covers provide better shielding and noise reduction compared to standard plastic covers of soapbars.
