Beaphar Lactol wet food for puppies is a complete milk replacer for puppies up to 35 days old. It can be used from birth for orphaned puppies as a supplementary or complete food. It contains balanced amounts of fats, vitamins and minerals. It can also be given to pregnant and nursing dogs, as well as older animals after illness or during recovery.
To prepare, mix 30 g of powder with 100 ml of warm, boiled water at 50–60°C until fully dissolved. The mixture yields 125 ml and should be allowed to cool to 38°C. Store in the refrigerator at 2–8°C for up to 24 hours, shake before use and warm to 38°C. Always provide clean, fresh water, and sterilise the bottle and teat before each feeding.
Feed the puppy as much as it wants, as daily quantities depend on its age, size and breed. Orphaned puppies should be weighed regularly; ensure the teat opening is the right size, and massage the abdomen and anal area after each feeding. In a large litter, supplementary food can be given as needed without exceeding the recommended quantities. Transition to solid food gradually before weaning.
