In August, I bought the above ups (POWERWALKER VI 850 SH SCHUKO LED 850VA/480W), to be installed EXCLUSIVELY on the EPSON TW9200W projector.
I bought it solely for the safety of the projector and intentionally chose a ups with 100w more than the Epson's requirements to cover it without any issues.
According to the ups technical specifications, it is for 480w and the projector operates at full capacity at 334w (though it operates in economy mode at 270w).
Now, with the storms that caused power outages, I needed it three times and all three times it did not keep the projector on at all, so I couldn't safely turn it off to avoid any damage to the projector and lamp due to temperature.
To check it better, a test was conducted on the ups with a 60-inch LG PB5600 plasma TV with power consumption in operation: 154 Watts and there was no problem at all, it held power normally until the TV safely turned off. The same test was done on a smaller Epson TW600 projector with power consumption in full operation: 250 Watts, and it held power normally there as well, so that the projector could be safely turned off.
Logically, with the above examples, it should not be able to handle more than 300w, even though it is stated to handle up to 480w.
After receiving an email from the company regarding the above "issue": We suspect the beamer has APFC (power factor correction) and hence requires oversizing for this model. Generally all online models and line-interactive with pure sine wave output support APFC loads, but this does not apply to VI SH Series.
