Description

Expand the capabilities of your Nikon Z camera with the Nikon FTZ II Mount Adapter. Designed to bridge the gap between the classic F mount and the modern Z system, it allows the use of hundreds of NIKKOR lenses with full compatibility. The FTZ II offers improved ergonomics without the tripod socket of its predecessor, providing more space for your fingers, while maintaining its durable construction and protection against dust and droplets. Enjoy automatic exposure, autofocus, and advanced image stabilization with the equipment you already love.

Seamless Compatibility with Hundreds of Lenses

The FTZ II mount adapter opens up a world of possibilities, allowing you to use approximately 360 NIKKOR F-mount lenses on Z series mirrorless cameras. Shooting with auto exposure (AE) is enabled for hundreds of lenses, while those with a built-in focus motor retain full autofocus (AF) capabilities. This means you can make the most of your investment in optical systems, bringing the superior quality of DSLR lenses to your modern Nikon Z camera body, without any loss in final image quality.

Improved Ergonomics and Design

The second generation of the adapter focuses on the photographer's comfort. The Nikon FTZ II features a slimmer and more elegant design compared to the original model, as the tripod mount protrusion has been removed. This change provides more space for your fingers during vertical shooting, making handling more comfortable, even when wearing gloves. The leather-tone painted finish perfectly matches the aesthetics of Nikon Z bodies, creating a seamless visual result between camera, adapter, and lens.

Advanced VR Stabilization for Every Lens

With the use of the FTZ II, image stabilization reaches new heights. If the F-mount lens features a VR (Vibration Reduction) system, the detection of pitch and yaw by the lens works together with the camera’s internal rotation detection. Even more impressive is that lenses that do not have VR gain a new level of sharpness, as correction of pitch, yaw, and rotation is now handled internally by the Z camera body. This hybrid system offers steadier shots in low light and greater confidence with every click.

Durability in Adverse Conditions

The FTZ II adapter is designed to follow you everywhere, regardless of environmental conditions. It features a durable construction made from lightweight aluminum alloy, ensuring sturdiness without adding unnecessary weight to your equipment. The rubber sealing on the connections, buttons, and levers makes it resistant to dust and splashes, meeting the high standards of Nikon's professional cameras. Whether you are shooting in fog or in a dusty environment, the adapter remains a reliable ally in your work.

Easy Swap and Use

The installation of the adapter is simple and quick, allowing for immediate lens switching in the field. The locking mechanism is precise, ensuring that the F-mount lens will fit perfectly and without gaps onto the Z mount. The adapter barrel is designed so as not to interfere with the handling of the focus or zoom rings, maintaining the smooth operation required by professional photographers and filmmakers. It is the ideal tool for those transitioning from the DSLR system to Mirrorless, without wanting to part with their favorite lenses.

Technical Superiority and Nikon Quality

As an authentic Nikon product (code JMA905DA), the FTZ II guarantees optimal communication between the electronic components of the lens and the camera body. It fully supports EXIF data transmission, allowing the camera to recognize the lens and apply the appropriate lens corrections. With weight and dimensions that make it almost "invisible" in your bag, the FTZ II is an investment in inspiration. Nikon continues to support its loyal users, offering a link that connects the glorious past of F-mount lenses with the future of the Z series.

i believe it is a bit over priced could be better on the budget.
performance wise it depends on the lens you are using.
if your target is not action sports that the adapter works fine !

Installed on Nikon Z6 II. Recognizes perfectly 85mm 1.8G and 35mm 1.8G with fast autofocus and additionally the stabilization that the two lenses did not have. On an older Sigma 12-24mm lens with autofocus issues, it recognizes it and the stabilization works well but needs to be set to MF. Works correctly with Tamron 70-300mm Macro as well.

Simple quality adapter for F series lenses. I didn't encounter any problems using the lenses. Particularly comfortable when changing lenses while mounted on a tripod, with the first version I had to remove the mounting base first. However, in cases where lens change is not needed, I prefer the first version, where the weight of the lens-camera is evenly distributed on the tripod. It doesn't have any extra features. Depending on the use, I place the corresponding adapter. Overall, it is a worthwhile purchase.

On the Z5, everything is fine, with lenses for F mount (coming from a D5600) everything works like clockwork.
